I've been thinking about this issue and have come up with some predictions:

  1. 75% Chance - SC decides that only Non-Military type Guns are ok
  2. 15% Chance - SC decides that All Guns are ok
  3. 10% Chance - SC decides that no Guns are ok

Personally, I find it highly unlikely that the SC would rule that gun-ownership is not legal. With more guns than people in the US it would spark a shall we say 'unwanted situation' for the government.

I also find it unlikely that the SC would let american citizens run around with bazookas, fully automatic rifles and 50 round/second chain guns attatched to their hummers while driving down the highway.

But I do find it reasonable that the SC will let americans keep their hand-guns under their pillows at nite.

95% chance that SC holds that 2nd Amendment is fundamental right
but can be regulated. That means any and all guns to the law abiding citizen. The regulation issue will be left to Congress and it will buy the Court sometime before having to rule on a "regulation" that does or does not "infringe" on this fundamental right.

100% chance that SC holds that the D.C. hand gun statute is unconstitutional.
