Ireland Urges St. Patrick's Restraint

Police said a record 650,000 revelers gathered up to 20 deep on the sidewalks of central Dublin for the annual parade, the biggest event in Ireland's five-day St. Patrick's Festival. Many brought ladders or balanced precariously on security fences, garbage bins and statues to see the spectacle, which was led by a mammoth float of St. Patrick on a Harley-Davidson motorcycle.

I am watching as the talking heads try to smile brightly in face of economic disaster. I am also helping my little one make a green top hat with shamrocks, rainbows and pots of gold to adorn it. We are planning to have burritos instead of cabbage, (same effects tho) and just being great full to remember my Great great great great Grandfather Patrick McCurty, he had hair the color of carrots, a nose the color of beets and as big as yer fist! I endlessly use my favorite Irish brogue and tell them the story of Grandfather McCurty until they laugh and tell me to stop! I just might even take a sip of some good ol Irish Wiskey before bed!
