I don't think it matters because it will never happen.
Disclosure of any kind will come at the appendages of aliens themselves. Assuming they are real (and I think they are) they have almost complete
control over how much of themselves we see, hear, and know. If they exist their technology is so advanced as to border on what we would consider
magic (magic itself something of a technology).
Now: What happens if and when they "go public"? How does our government handle it?
If the aliens seem to be friendly, will the PTB denouce the aliens as monsters here to enslave and consume mankind?
If the aliens seem to be hostile, will our government make an effort to protect us? Would they finally show off some of that marvelous tech (like
ground-to-space weapons, etc.) so many of us suspect they have? Or would it be like Independence Day, where elements within the gov't knew-or had
reason to believe-the visitors were hostile, and covered it up even past the point where the aliens had slaughtered millions and levelled dozens of
major cities? Even at the end of ID4 we're left wondering how much foreknowledge of aliens our gov't disclosed after-the-fact, since at the end of
the movie only a handful knew the secret.
See, I am under the assumption that the military/industrial/intelligence complex knows a LOT about UFOs and their occupants. Whether that includes
direct contact, some kind of "deal", etc. is a matter for debate but for me there is no question they've been hiding something for many, many
years. The heavy redaction of documents gained through FOIA should be enough to tell you there's something huge going down with this.
But they can't tell us about it for a number of reasons.
First, there's the fairly obvious point that they have a lot to lose if they tell the "truth". Faith in gov't is already at an all-time low.
Exposing such a huge secret, perhaps the most profound truth since Jesus supposedly walked the Earth, through credible sources the masses can trust
would shake any faith the world has left. Terrorism would increase exponentially. Armed revolt would break out before the PTB are ready to deal with
it. People already on the edge might decide that, instead of just listening to Jim Marrs and Alex Jones, they should take matters into their own
hands and destroy the Elites once and for all in a vigilante free-for-all. I don't know about anyone else here, but the majority of folks I know are
so stressed out right now by bills, job insecurity, high health care costs, no vacations (or no money to take vacations), exponential increases in
workload with no reward, skyrocketing gas prices, increasing food prices, outrageous rent, the housing market crash, recession, etc. etc. etc. that
they're right on the edge, just waiting for that one excuse to blow off steam and make someone pay. I think UFO disclosure would be one Hell of a
catalyst. Besides that, disclosure of UFO reality including the release of UFO-derived technology would irrevocably upset the balance of power
between the Elites and the rest of us.
Second, with all they have to lose, they have nothing to gain. After an alien-controlled disclosure like the old "landing on the White House
lawn" they could gain by denouncing the visitors regardless of friendship or hostility, or they could gain by allying themselves with aliens (if they
haven't done so already). Before such an event they get nothing from it.
And we can't rely on science this time. Mainstream science laughs in the face of UFOlogy. I remember a few weeks ago Larry King had a special about
UFOs after the Texas thing got really big, and the "mainstreamer" they brought on was a complete, arrogant prick--he discounted all witness
testimony because even pilots with 20,000hrs don't qualify as "trained observers" in his book. Science as an institution will not help us, and may
be complicit in the cover-up.
