This is the kind of crap I'm talking about. You got this fake-ass movie supposedly depicting the "true" story of Jesus when it can't be true if Jesus isn't black in the film. Then, all the Jesus Freaks get all goofy and reverant, saying, "In the name of God, you must see this gory bloodfest of a film. See the blood. See the gore. See the torture. Praise Jesus."

Then, tis not bad enough that they will be making filthy lucre off the lie but now look what their doing!

February 19, 2004 -- Replicas of the nails used to hang Jesus on the cross have become the red-hot official merchandise linked to Mel Gibson's controversial new movie, "The Passion of the Christ."
Pendants made from the pewter, 2 1/2-inch nails - selling for $16.99 - all but flew out of the Christian Publications Bookstore on West 43rd Street as soon as they were put on display.

Hundreds of stores across the country will be selling licensed items tied to the movie, a graphically violent depiction of the last 12 hours of Christ's life, which opens next week on Ash Wednesday.

The souvenirs include a book, pins, key chains, coffee mugs and T-shirts.

But the most unusual collectibles are the nails, each of which hangs on a leather cord.

Its side bears the inscription "Isaiah 53:5," referring to a Bible verse that begins, "He was pierced for our transgressions . . ."

I'm frighted cuz I sorta agree with you. Joshua Ben Joseph should be more "ethnic" Skin of bronze hair like wool is that the quote ? As far as the nails go more power to them.
Xtiananity is just superstition anyway .

Jesus walks into an inn, hands the man three nails and says 'Hey, buddy, can you put me up for the night?'

bwahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

Now, my favorite picture I have seen about Jesus is called JESUS LAUGHING, or something like that. Hanging out with foul-mouthed sailors (fishermen), tax collectors, whores and degenerates... I'm pretty sure Christ had a sense of humor.

Jesus Christ anyhow! It is a MOVIE!

You probably own a cross. Or a rosary. Shame on you.

Does owning a replica of a nail mean you'll go to hell? Hell no! Look at Hamilton's favorite Catholic, the great and all-powerful Constance. His mother, for christ's sake, found and gave him an actual nail.

Now, a couple months back, on the Sci-Fi channel, there was a movie, which involved a secret box containing within it the three nails of Christ. I don't remember seeing any crap about that on ATS (or other areas of information).

And as far as the movie being too bloody? What the hell is that about? Jesus was whipped, thorned, stabbed, and crucified... and that isn't a bloody or violent image? You expect that there was no blood or pain involved? You actually believe all the cute-zy stained glass images where big JC is just lounging on the cross?

If anything, just the fact that it depicts the crucifiction in a realistic manner should justify it. Look at what Christ had to go through in order to save people like you.

My god, the news has more violent images than the movie!

And yes, by god, all the added christs in this post was intentional.

I wonder... could they be used to hold the cross-beams in my garage together, or are they strictly for show?

COME ON! There is so much crap in the world, this thing with the nails is NOTHING compared to what is happening in your own neighborhoods!

You can carry a cross, kiss the image of the device Christ suffered on... yet you refuse to look at what held him there? It's just like another thread of the Colonel's... you want to believe in Jesus, but you refuse to see what he had to endure to save us.

Salaams All, I have a few questions,

First, yes i do believe that selling the Nails is bad, but Brother we have to live with it, its here and do yourself a favor, just boycott the damn thing.

We have the refrences 4 Gospels, 4 only, but there were 11-12 apostals AND we ONLY have 4????
Not only that who are they>>>
It clearly says ACCORDING TO.... Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, so that mean that the so called Gospel is a copy of a copy of a copy. Also what are there Surenames???
They started to write the Gospel after 50 years after Jesus(pbuh) died????
There are other Gospels, but people dont Question it, why????
I used to be a Catholic and i used to go to a Catholic school, NOT once did we ever talk about other Religions, we always thought that everything revolved around the Bible and Jesus(pbuh). I dont know if they still do this or not, but i hope it has changed.
I believe that in this school i was tought What to think, not HOW to think, this is what Islam offered me.

Now the Book Of Barnaba says that Jesus(pbuh) didnt die, but Judas took his place.

Now look its up to the individual to believe it or not, its up to you.

I Honestly believe this:

[004:157] That they said (in boast), "We killed Christ Jesus the son of Mary, the Apostle of God";- but they killed him not, nor crucified him, but so it was made to appear to them, and those who differ therein are full of doubts, with no (certain) know ledge, but only conjecture to follow, for of a surety they killed him not:-

Noble Quran!

Also if i could quote something from the Holy Bible:

Isaiah 52:14 "Just as there were many who were appalled at him - his appearance was so disfigured beyond that of any man and his form marred beyond human likeness.

Even though this is not true, because in the NT it doesnt say such a thing, but this further gives me proof of what Barnabas was talking about, just an Idea, please comment on this, correct me if im wrong??

Salaam

How many people do you actually think will buy these? If people want to buy these nails or screws or whatever they are, they have that right. If you ask me, I don't see the difference between wearing a screw and weaing a hammer or a crucifix or screwdriver or a mitor box...

The Bible has strict admonitions against idols and icons.

Assuming there is the slightest shread of truth to any of it.

theres more truth in the bible than most of the links here and most of the post here.

When the bible was first put together, when church officals decided what would stay in and what would be kept out... it should make you at least wonder who's truth are we reading, and how much of the truth are we getting?

So crosses can do neither good nor evil.

I think the symbol of the cross is simply a reminder of what Jesus sacrificed for you. To die for our sin. If you look at a cross and you remember that then it has done some good.

What YOU believe is irrelevant. What did God say?

Leviticus 26
1 " 'Do not make idols or set up an image or a sacred stone for yourselves, and do not place a carved stone in your land to bow down before it. I am the LORD your God.

It also says we have the right to sell our daughters and have slaves. And I know you know that if you read the Old Test. If your gonna take one thing you gotta take them all dont ya?

well golly gee polywog... I do not agree with the marketing of the nail stuff. Kinda wierd man freakish even... But then again people who wear the cross around the neck... hummm gues i am just used to the cross more than the nail...

Also never saw anything that said this MOVIE was a documentarty it's a freaking movie man fiction, as seen through the eyes and mind of a few people. no where have i seen that these people claim that this can be the only way it happend...Only that this is the way they believe it happend.

Alright, except that we do not *KNOW* if Jesus was EVER crucified... this could be one big lie anyway...

The question is posed then, "If this IS a lie, is it then too violent?" If the only defense for why this movie isn't violent is that "It's the truth".. and that falls through?

We can't use assumptions as defense, can we?

Of course, nothing is TOO violent, as it is all relative and based on someone's subjective perspective on what's "too violent" and what's not. However, how do you defend ANYTHING with an assumption that no one knows the validity of?

Time for a serious post. People wear crosses round their neck to remember the price jesus paid for them on the cross. They remember his victory over death and yes HE DID DIE.
one of you said

"The real funny part of the whole thing is that its been proven that he never died on the cross and lived for quite a while after the crucifiction, like many people did. There are writings after the crucifiction from jesus. I think there is even a grave in India where they say he is buried,Katmandu or Nepal or something like that.
You know, who really cares about jesus the magician anyways.
And yes jesus is written with a small j on purpose."

It is fact that jesus died on the cros- if you dont believe me lets way up the evidence.

1. Jesus grave in another country. Jesus was one of the most common names at the time. There were more than likely quite a few teachers named jesus at the time of Jesus of naserath. A man named Jesus who came from Israel is buried in a muslim country. I have no problem with that.

2. Roman soldiers. These men were trained to kill. If a prisoner was not killed and they made a mistake they would die instead. They would not risk any mistake.

3. The cross killed!!!! It was one of the worst and most painfull ways to die! Roman citizens could not be crucified because of how awful it was. It was reserved for the worst criminals.

4. People say he rose from the dead!!! the church began and spread rapidly on the basis that jesus died and was raised. It began on the day of pentacost not long after his resurection.

Im not going to type everything. Believe me or dont. A good book to buy is the case for christ by lee strobal. Jesus was the christ. He died and rose again- there is astounding evidence for this if yuou only look in to it properly. most people just look at the evidence against.

www.answersingenesis.org is a good site if you want to find out more

lolz! Some people are really too desperate to make a quick buck! Marketing folks knows that gore and blood are one of the effective ways to sell.
