AN official scientific review of Japan's bizarre experiments with test-tube minke babies and attempts at cross-breeding cows with whales has exploded the claim whale slaughter is "research".

In 18 years Japan's scientific whaling program has produced only 43 papers. Half sought to establish whale mortality rates without a definitive result while the rest were a variety of oddities including attempting to cross-breed whales with cows.

Huh? It's a different subject matter. Not very related.. Didn't you read the article linked? It's about bizarre experiments (unless you consider shooting protesters a bizarre experiment).

On topic, why the hell are they trying to cross-breed the two? Fraken-manatees?

Oh, but so much could come from this research.

Cows that could be fed on krill, instead of expensive grains.

Whales that produce 50 gallons of milk a day. (I want to see the milking machine for this!
)

Cows that can hold their breath for a half an hour.

Whales that line up and follow each other into the harbor at a set time each day.

Cows that weigh three to twenty tons. (No need to ask where's the beef.)

Whales that are udderly docile.

I would go on, but you get the drift.

Starred! Never thought of the many implications. The $1 cheeseburger at McDonalds will be now 25 cents.
