At least eight people have been killed by gunmen who are reported to have infiltrated and attacked a Jewish seminary in West Jerusalem.

Israeli media said that at least 30 were injured in the attack at the Mercaz Harav yeshiva in the Kiryat Moshe quarter of Jerusalem.

This attack is an act of appalling savagery, but at the same time tragically unsurprising. With the Israeli assault on Gaza it was inevitable that there would be an attack on the expansionists within Israel.

Coupled with the story of the Palestinian girl shot in gaza, this week has shown how the Middle East will never know peace as long as the reciprocal attacks continue.
