Never really understood how this would work - i mean given that the technology existed.

There are a couple of issues:

1) Millions of images all at once and non real clear. (unless i suppose you focused and had a good imagination when not dreaming.)

2) Billions of thoughts at once, which would be incoherent if translated or written out.

The mind does not work the way we put words on paper.
There are 1000s of words, ideas, concepts floating around...at best the art work and writing out putted by a device would look like a horrid surrealistic painting gone wrong.


Or a new beautiful piece of art, but not in a communication form that we are familiar with.

Amazing technology; I didn't know about Tesla and his studies with it, I'm still amazed by Tesla.

I just know that if this technology were available to the public when I was a child I would have been hooked up to it so the ole' chopper mom could monitor my dreams too. But it would be nifty to have one for myself. I wonder if they can accurately map indefinite ideas or figure out how the brain crunches numbers and stores information with this.
