does anybody remember the tv series "V" from the 1980's, i found a link in
wiki for it.

a tv series about an alien race invading earth and exploiting every natural
resource pump the lakes and oceans dry and the entire human race as slaves or in stasis to be used as food. an alien race of reptillians disguised as humans.

en.wikipedia.org...(TV_series)

Actually the storyline was that the "alien" race of reptilians dressed up as human like needed "saltwater", something we have too much and don't need", and in return they'd give us "technologies".

It ofcourse was a false front so that they could eat our brains or something.

Dude, sorry, I don't want to be rude. I think that's a really stupid question your posing. You're trying to state that the "theory" is old because it was on television in the 80s?

Look in the Book of Revelation. "Out of their mouths came spirits like frogs". Frogs are reptilian.

The story is as old as recorded time. That's alot longer then 3 decades.

I remember that 'V' show! It was a hoot! A bunch of aliens disguised as humans befriended the earthlings and a war ensued with the good guys winning, of course. Some of these aliens were good. But one baddie was a female who ate live rodents. This is all I remember of that show, yup.

I remember it, and I read the book, too.

The mini-series was terrific, and it had that wicked theme-song, too.

The TV series was, as I recall, pretty damned bad, unfortunately. Obviously they didn't have the budget they should have had.

I remember the series vividly. I remember that the chief female alien (the one who ate rats), wears boots way too small for her feet. If you ever get the chance to watch it again, remember to look at her tiny pincer toes!

"Dude", sorry, I don't want to be rude, but frogs are amphibians, not reptiles.

Maybe it's time to read some non-fiction books.

I've seen some episodes of V, but just recently. My friend recommended it to me and he was able to track down a few episodes. (the finale)

Was the show before David Icke made his claim of shape-shifting reptilians?

Frogs are amphibians. The snake in the Garden of Eden would be a better bet.

v was a quality series.. used to be on about 11.30pm in the uk and i used to stay up late to watch it and go to school tired.. I was about 10 when it was first aired.

Diana and donovans woman where a pair of foxy chics alright, plus you knew it could only get better when michael ironside turned up in the later episodes with loads of c4 and red dust!

I always think of V when the ships first come into sight in the movie independence day.

We need new and improved V for the 20th century, i for one would watch it.

I second that opinion ! I watched V and loved it. I even had the little alien gun toy. when you pulled the trigger it would light up in the middle. I loved that thing.

hey....if they can bring back Knight Rider, they can bring back V. surely Sci-Fi channel could do it or something.

Wasn't the "V" to stand for "The Visitors"? I don't know why that rings a bell. It's been since the original airing that I saw the show, but I recall it well. I also believe that it would be successful if re-made in a contemporary setting.

I really remember that I thought the alien leader woman was "hot" initially, until she ate the rats. Then she was "wicked hot".

I find it of note that many of the "fantastic" liberties taken with the "V" story are currently found on countless threads on this forum. (shape-shifting reptilians among that list, obviously.)

I wonder if many of the "reptilian chasers" were fans of the "V" story...

There was plans to bring the old cast back in a movie. I'm not sure what happened to those plans though.

Looking back at the series it was beatiful, we used to collect bottles so we could rent the next episode
The ending sucked abit though but the 2nd series was good.
Abit of trivia: did you know it was first supposed to be guerrillas fighting against nazis and some of the nazi influence was visible in the series. Like the uniforms and the visitor logo _%¨ thingie.

Has anyone found the earliest reported claim of the Reptilian theory? As in one that we know to be the same thing David Icke et al are banging on about (and not some weird quote from the bible that could be talking about anything)? It would be interesting to know if it pre-dates V, or whether V was around before. It could be this whole theory (which *still* has no evidence) was merely started by V. It would make more sense than the actual reptilian theory.

Although i think i've heard it's been cancelled, imdb lists "V:The second generation" as still in production.

Just for info, who knows, maybe there will be a new miniseries, at least Kenneth Johnson is still on board.

The book can be found at Amazon here

Seems, they ignored the Final Battle/Red Dust for the sake of going on with the story
