Israel Kills 18 Palestinians in Gaza

GAZA CITY, Gaza Strip (AP) — Israeli aircraft struck a series of targets throughout the Gaza Strip on Thursday, killing 18 Palestinians — including five youths — in a fresh surge in fighting that threatened to provoke even harsher Israeli action.

The Israeli attacks stepped up the pressure on Hamas, a day after a rocket fired by the Islamic militant group from Gaza killed an Israeli man. One helicopter attack struck a target outside the home of Hamas Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh.

The Zionist would say, "...mere activities in the Gaza."

An increase in people's rate of vindication makes me almost certain these crimes will escalate further.

Lets not forget why Israel has the green light in it's regional politics.

[sarcasm on]

So if someone was launching rockets at your house every day for several months you would apologize to them for making them so mad at you and then give them your house and move away? That sounds like a fair deal to me - I can't imagine why the Israelis would not agree to that.

[sarcasm off]

I think Europe could learn a few things from Israel, considering what is currently going on in Europe.

I dunno, I think it'd be just as effective to point and laugh at the Palestinians. Ever read up the statistics on how much damage those rockets to? The Palestinians might as well stick to rocks - just as damaging and a lot cheaper. C'mon. The Weathermen were better terrorists than most of these screwups.

So retaliation against an oppressive, apartheid regime justifies more destruction of life and infrastructure, because its Israel. We will just give them more money to take care of the hostile and extremely dangerous Palestinians. for every 1 Israeli killed, 30 Arabs must die. Personally, if I were in the Palestinians' shoes, my anarchist nature would take over and violence would ensue. The only way I see the end of this struggle is for the US to cut out Israel from it's checkbook.

Back on topic; those news links described some areas of Gaza which are civilian population, as targeted by the IDF, instead of rocket sites.

you forget the metaphorical house was stolen by such underhanded means of gradually changing the locks and attacking sympathetic neighbors, but that is history and politics doesn't revolve around history.

All of the rocket sites ARE in civilian areas because the Palestinians purposely put them there. They WANT Israel to hit the rocket launchers that are placed on top of schools or hospitals so they can show all of the sympathetic foreign reporters the dead and bloody children. They purposely put their own civilians in harms way for publicity. The cities being targeted in Israel are totally civilian and have no military value other than a few soldiers that may happen to live there. There is no comparison.

I believe the metaphorical house was designated to be the state of Israel by the United Nations. Surely you don't disagree with the United Nations. It is a beacon of true humanity and selfless devotion to the betterment of mankind unmatched in all of the world.

When you are physically attacked, it is only reasonable to retaliate. A man should know when he is beaten, and if he fails to recognize this, then he is a fool.

Considering that Muslims have continued with a passive aggression throughout the world, they have no grounds to claim victim hood.

What is the next step to counter this insane religion?

What is the other choice, allow ourselves to be taken over by ignorance?

Muslims have turned family into a prison. I continue to reserve the right to criticize what I see as wrong.

the thread you typed on war crimes trials for ww2 -----you seem to have a slant towards germany being unfairly dealt with by the allies at the war crimes trials----i wonder how many children died because of what hitler started ?would you have been happier if all europe lost because they didn't fight back and ended up in the concentration camps instead ?

i suppose you have never seen the pictures of little palestinian children that their parent's send off to march in their parades with "fake" pipe bombs strapped around their waists?----how many jewish children have you seen pictured being taught that level of insane hatred?

an accident happens and it's jewish murderers?

I don't have a slant towards Germany, just that the Allies took the higher moral side of it, when thye were all guilty of the same crimes. How many children died in Hiroshima and Nakisaki, how many died in the Allied air raid that killed hundreds of thousands of civilians in Germany, how many soviet children died in the goulags or in the Ukraine after failed forced collectivization? My point was the whole we are better than you, you evil NAZIs', when those judging were just as bad. Im not saying that Germany should not have been punished, but that if Germany should everyone shouldve been. I was not taking Germany's side, but humanities. No one should be aloud to commit murder, but are only select ones punished?

If you want to talk about forein policy in the middle east killing children, why not look into the 500 000 Iraqi children that died in pre-invasion Iraq due to US sanctions. These sanctions were said to prevent Iraq from developing WMDs, which according to Dubya they did anyways, so 500 000 children died for nothing. (Read Robert Fisk's The Great War for Civilisation for more on this, and other fun times in the middle east for the last 30 years. The book is amazing, and pretty neutral)

And yes it is murder, just as much as a suicide bomber blowing up a cafe is murder, neither is right, and neither side is moral in doing so. I was just commenting on the sad fact that they were playing soccer, that hit me a little harder, perhaps for the innocence of it all. They should jsut go back to the 1967 borders and stop killing each other, both sides.

o.k. sorry i jumped to an erronius conclusion as to what i thought you were insinuating.
pre-invasion iraq:saddam hussein pocketed the money that was supposed have been food for oil payments to feed his people.he didn't care who starved as long as it wasn't his family or friends.

the usa has stayed too long this time----should have left just as quick as with hw bush's strike to weaken saddam to free kuwait

do you really think that the muslim extremists fighting a civil war there with the usa stuck in the middle care about kids?

perhaps it would be better if saddam was still in charge of iraq's government-----as cruel and evil as he was both shiites and sunni muslims feared him more than each other so kept a low profile and iran was kept subdued by the fear of when saddam might start another war with them.

sometimes our solutions to peace turn out worse than if we had just minded our own buisness.democracy might work for the english speaking world but it doesn't work too well with the muslim world.

To be honest I am pro-Palestine somewhat, even though I don't agree with violence by any country. I don't think either side is right with the violence, and either blaming each other is just redundant, they have been revenge killing each other for the last 40 years, its just a horrible cycle. I do think the west bank and Gaza strip should be unoccupied, but violence as everything has proved isn't going to solve this problem. I said what i said because I heard this on BBC and they mentioned the kids things while showing an image of blood being power washed off a wall. Regardless of politics, thats got to mess with any human being.

Iraq was better under Saddam. Look up heavy metal Baghdad on you tube, its a series. The average person was more free under Saddam then they are now. The middle east is getting worse and worse and US interference continues. Look at Pakistan. It is polarizing the entire region when we should be trying to make it more moderate.
