A circus lion grabbed a 10-year-boy through the bars of its cage in eastern China and ripped his arm off.

The child was looking at the animal at Wanfota Park in Mengcheng, a county in Anhui province, when it lunged and held the boy with its paws

Well it happened in China so its not a Big surprise..

There was probably minimum safety and the kid was at a close range where the lion plunged at him.

They fired at the reptiles with catapults and beat them with wooden sticks until one, riled by the treatment, dragged the boy into the water, where he was eaten by a swarm of the reptiles.

Funny, I always thought the Asian kids at my school were the really smart ones.

Well let's see, one very large feline carnivore kept in a cage and forced to perform.
An available Chinese dinner delivered right to the cage.

You do the math, but the only one I feel sorry for is the cat that will probably be killed after an incident like this.

We really need to give Darwin Awards to people like this.

Sure, we have the horror of a ten year old having his arm ripped off by a beast that should never have been in that cage in the first place. But we also have the fact that the animal was given the chance to get at the kid in any way.

The same as the tiger incident at the SF zoo, or Roy Horn, these big cats look at us as food.
I hate to say it, but "sum young guy" was on the menu that day and I can't blame the cat for taking the opportunity to snag a meal.
