Current list

I find it ironicly amuzing that the grand fix for Vista is yet, breaking other things.

Should M$ not have tested with these common programs???:shk:

Well, be that as it may, at least be awear of it.

Some patches are listed and links to the manufacturer are on the above link.

But the ultimate question is this....

When can I get my SP1?

And Where?

Where, M$.

When will they release the final version....good question.

It was released to corporate clients, caused issues and was pulled by M$.

The release date has been pushed, this time, to march/June...so they say....

When it is finally released to the general public, yes.

That said, realize it will be from 500 megs to 1.2 gig's in size.

Also realize, since it replaces the vista kernal (core) with server 2008 kernal, it WILL take a lot of time to complete install.

Go a head and assume 1 hour to load and configure (self).

Expect several reboots in the process.

Some of those, I think, MS blocked or disabled on purpose. I mean Zone Alarm is a popular program. Maybe they had a falling out with MS.

Wouldn't put it past them.

I suspect, most of the issues is with programs not playing well with server 2008.

Remember, SP1 turns the kernal of vista into server 2008, I suspect this is where the issues arise.

Now, norton 360 does not like zonealarm and other programs on before it installs.
That said, it seems to have no issues if they are installed after 360.

I wonder if the same will be true of SP1?????

I'm not using an external firewall, just the one in Vista...

Am I OK with that, or should I use one..???

I use "Filseclab" with my XP Machines... But it won't work with Vista, tried it...
