You have confused the actions of bad men pretending to be Christian with Christianity. To be Christian is to emulate Christ and his teachings. Few who claim to be Christan's actually are. It is a shame your understanding of that has been so warped.

Since you have relegated Christ to the side of evil, have you likewise relegated evil acts to be good?

They were right

If what you say is right......how can a house divided against itself stand? Why would Satan banish Satan? No, What you are saying is not correct...Jesus said that Satan would not cast out satan...........Read the end of the book.........who wins? Did you know every prophecy in the old testament came true! I know of no other book that every prophecy proved true......some prophecies were hundreds of years old......statistically that is proof to me...beyond doubt. Read the book and see who wins..................ahhhhhhhhh Jesus. I know of no other "god" or diety that would die for you, me or anyone else......Jesus preaches love. What harm is in that.......NONE. It certainly is not worth riskng eternity.

I agree with you there Blaine. Freeman, what proof have you offered in respect to Jesus sides with evil. Where in the bible is there evidence of this? I remeber a passage in which Jesus was tempted by the devil. Why would one that is on the side of the devil or evil need to be tempted?

Matthew 4

The Temptation of Jesus

Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the desert to be tempted by the devil. After fasting forty days and forty nights, he was hungry. The tempter came to him and said, "If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread."

Jesus answered, "It is written: 'Man does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God."

Then the devil took him to the holy city and had him stand on the highest point of the temple. "If you are the Son of God," he said, "throw yourself down. For it is written:

"He will command his angels concerning you,
and they will lift you up in their hands,
so that you will not strike your foot against a stone."

Jesus answered him, "It is also written: 'Do not put the Lord your God to the test."

Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor. "All this I will give you," he said, "if you will bow down and worship me."

Jesus said to him, "Away from me, Satan! For it is written: 'Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only."

Then the devil left him, and angels came and attended him.

I have thought alot of Jesus. I was raised a Catholic. I was an altar boy and I was never molested by a priest. However I have been bothered by the actions of the Catholic church in regards to those that claim they have been.

I have seen the claims of films like Zeitgeist and the accusations that Jesus ws created by the council of nicea in an effort to unite the religions of Rome. If you have seen the Monty Python movie, "The Life of Brian" I think they showed it well there.

I think as far as Jesus Christ is concerned it doesn't really matter if he existed as a man or not. It is not the man himself but the message that is important. "Love thy God with all thy heart and soul and love thy neighbor as thyself". That I do believe is a proper guidline. All people do not have the ability to perceive all things and so religion does serve some noble purpose to (or for) some people. Dogma, however is not the answer to everything.

Religion like any construct of man is corruptable, it can be and it probably has been and is. I think that is what drives people to claim that they are not religious but "spiritual". I have made the same claim myself in my life.

So belief in Jesus (to me) is not the salvation Christianity wants people to believe. I think you must trust in your own sense of what is right and wrong. Your own soul (self) will tell you the truth, not your handed down beliefs. There is probably no one answer to all things, if it was that easy we would have figured it out a long time ago. I look at all the evil that has been done in the cause of good and still continues today.

I think Jesus was a good, wise fellow that was a prophet similar to the Buddha or Joseph Smith. He did have a particularly important mission, though, and that was to spread the Old Testament across the world; so I do think he was in meso-America as Latter-day Saints believe; it's also possible he's the Indian Krishna. I think he's the son of Yahweh, leader of the Elohim as revealed by Raël, and a human mother

My personal beliefs about jesus are that while there may have been a man named Jesus, its actually more likely that there wasint, I mean dont you think that someone if Jesus were real the Bible wouldint be the only damn thing with documentation of his existence.

I think the historians of the time just may have wanted to write about someone like that, yet nothing.

There probably was a great man like Jesus from his time whos feats were twisted and changed to suit the will of the elites so they can make more religion based wars, its a damn shame so many people die for something they blindly follow and simply dont understand,

I mean the real kicker for me is that there were over 100 different "messiahs" before Jesus who shared the EXACT SAME life story, including a December 25th birthdate, and rising from the dead after 3 days, ie the story of Jesus is a fraud and one of many copied stories.

The original story and original relifion if you like, was actually the story of the sun, hence the "sun" of god, and the 12 ages of the sun are the 12 deciples, the reason its said he died and came back after 3 days is because in Easter the sunis at its highest point for 3 days adn comes back to life as such, I can type more evidence if anyone wants,

The only religion I damn well need is LOVE.

Sorry to the people who believe, but its just my opinion.

To quote GhostBusters "I love Jesus' Style"...

Jesus was a street prophet, a fighter of established religion, and gave hope to the bottom rung of a corrupt society, he spent his time hanging out with harlots and thieves and loved them just as much as everyone else... Then a mistake was made, someone took his teachings and made a religion out of them (something I don't think he even intended) and then perverted those teachings (the Romans added all sorts of pagan rituals and threw out a ton of books from the Bible)...

Not sure if he really ascended, or, as you say "turned to the dark-side" but he was likely a man of great wisdom, course that all went down the tubes thanks to the Romans and the Church, Inquisitions, Crusades, etc etc...

That's a beautiful recounting of "saving grace", Guz. Thank you for sharing your story with us.

How many of us here have been where you've been---so far down spiritually, physically and emotionally that the curb is lookin' up!

Yours is a beautiful testimony and one I hope you get to share with others whenever and wherever the opportunity arises.

Peace!

No, I didn't, but thanks.

I meant Buddha.

Buddha like Jesus

Krishna like Vishnu

I can only imagine if you were in India and wanted to start a discussion about a religious teacher that gained many followers after his lifetime, who named a religion after him and whose teachings were recorded by his disciples you'd go with Buddha.

Turned to the dark side?

Are we talking about Jesus or Darth Vader?

Personally, I think the world would be a better place if people learned from what Jesus actually taught and then burned the rest of the Bible.

Well, I think Jesus did, indeed, do more of His father's business. Such as visiting South America and giving those native peoples ideas which they could use according to their cultures. He might have been Quetzelqualtol (sp). He could have given the Mayans the knowledge of time which they recorded in their calendar. Jesus could have gone into space and visited other planets in other solar systems. The Jesuits, about two years ago, published a pamphlet which was supported by the Pope of the Catholic Church which encouraged people to not push their idea of Jesus Christ onto aliens who might land on earth and make themselves known. Why? Because they might have their own Jesus and beliefs. Interesting idea to say the least, coming from the Catholic Church. Jesus could be an infinite number of beings, ministering to billions of cultures throughout this universe. Hell, he could be ministering to billions of universes. He could be God in human form, or in little green man form or in any of a multitude of various life forms all at once. He is, after all, the physical manifestation of God, who knows no boundaries. That is if you believe as I believe. You might believe something else. That's cool with me.
Meanwhile I like 'God, He/She learns as He/She grows.

The preaching of the cross to those that perish is foolishness.

Luke

16:23 And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.

16:24 And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.

16:25 But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented.

16:26 And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that [would come] from thence.

16:27 Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father's house:

16:28 For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment.

16:29 Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.

16:30 And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent.

16:31 And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead. (KJV)

Though Jesus rose from the dead they still are not persuaded. They will still cry for more evidence even though it is recorded in secular history. Like Thomas, they will not believe unless they see the nail prints and place their hand in his side, but by then it is too late.

In the words of C.S. Lewis;

A man who was merely a man and said the sort of things Jesus said would not be a great moral teacher. He would either be a lunatic -- on the level with the man who says he is a poached egg -- or else he would be the Devil of Hell. You must make your choice. Either this man was, and is, the Son of God: or else a madman or something worse. You can shut Him up for a fool, you can spit at Him and kill Him as a demon; or you can fall at His feet and call Him Lord and God. But let us not come with any patronizing nonsense about His being a great human teacher. He has not left that open to us. He did not intend to. – Mere Christianity, pages 40-41.

The op says that Jesus went to the "dark side" thus preferring to call Him the Devil of Hell. Either way the op will meet him and either way the meeting will not be good.

Werther one believes or not is their choice, in the end one will be right and one will be wrong. Those that prefer to believe in Jesus loose nothing should they be proven wrong. However, if they are proven to be right the others loose it all.

I personally prefer to call Him Lord and God. Thus I risk nothing nor do I loose anything. I do not drink, smoke or chase after the ladies. Following Jesus and doing what He said does not diminish my life at any point. If anything it adds to my life. But we all make our choices and following Jesus was mine. I can not make the choice for anyone, that my friend is up to you.

You are certainly wrong. Jesus went to the father as you have no idea where he went. Jesus will be returning and will wreck havoc with the Luciferians whose world has unraveled......

You are either mistaken and don't understand that Jesus was the son of God, [God in Human form] and knew we would not be able to fill the commandments. So he came down to take the punishment and all we have to do is believe in him and repent. That free will can be a real killer.
