Quote from Media Lens by Richard Keeble

"The mainstream press, closely allied to the state, now serves to create the illusion of participatory democracy."

Yes- but does the Democratic Party do this as well?

Democratic principles have traditionally served to uphold the standards of
freedom and equality guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution.

(i.e. Social Security and welfare upholding the need to balance the income disparities and to help Americans achieve the American dream, affirmative action to combat institutional racism, or the allowance of public protest in order to secure free speech and the rights to assemble.)

If the Democratic Party would serve to undermine the very processes they stand for, such as: free and fair elections, a free press, and government accountability are we now truly a one-party state?

Take for example the issue of black box or computer voting. Many scholars and journalists have underscored the security breaches and potential for voter fraud that computer voting terminals have openly demonstrated.

Have democrats responded by making it a campaign issue, or having lawsuits filed in Federal Court? No. Why are the Democrats so lax in these completely real threats to the very democracy their Party is named after?

Again, back to the freedom of the press. The FCC rulings concerning media ownership have garned enough media attention, but there are also many underlying issues with regard to the press in the way slanted or spin journalism have circumvented the truth in reporting. Facts being left out, pending court investigations compromised by media slander and interfering with due process, along with other media reports denoting a true conflict of interest with their conglomerate parent-company so as to make journalism something of an elaborate sham.

With all the facts in on media concentration, have the Democrats vowed to act?
Have they made securing your 'Democracy' an issue for future legislation or political action? Based on public information, does your Party and their potential Presidential candidate represent the mainstream interest in securing freedoms on your behalf? Or are the ruling Party (singular) securing your future in disinformation?

Unfortunately, Affirmative Action is Racist.

Giving to someone or taking away from someone based on skin color is racist and that is what AA does.

2 wrongs don't make a right.

It's not quite as easily summed up as that, but in essence you are right.

first off, the names are purely names. the original party, federalists, and anti-federalists, their debates were much fiercer than nowadays, and muchmore concerned for the nation. the republicans are just as for the country as are the dems. dun forget, it was the democrats who favored slavery! (long story)
AA is racist. yes, pure and simple.
as to undermining themselves, yes and no. theyve moved way too far left, so any moderates are pushed out, and people are repulsed. in that sense, yes, they have undermined themselves.

i'm no fan of the democratic party either, but...
the capitalist system never acts on issues depending on right or wrong.
affirmative action was just created to make minorities feel there is nothing wrong in the society or the living standards they live in.
they can't blame the system if it's 'helping' them... it's to keem them quiet.

Maybe the Democratic party isn't as bad as I first thought, they are now starting to pay attention to Edwards.

Another example would be in how the police in Florida
handled the protests versus the FTAA.

Without being provoked, the protesters were shot with rubber bullets and tear gas.

The country protects the right to protest, but when the very right is threaten with almost zero TV attention,
the Democratic Party is nowhere to be found.

As ir turned out, $8 million dollars was used from the Homeland Security budget to fund the logisitics the police used in their gestapo tactics against the protest.

erm... that doesn't have anything to do with the amerikan democratic party. and even though the liberals are lenient towards the communists, we have no links with them.
