PDF 57 page booklet, worth the read. Both for believer and non believers of EVOLUTION, it will either strengthen your faith in evolution or deter it.

Wonder why nobody has bothered to read this? Or at least post comments. Unless somebody already knows Hovind and decide not to read it because he didn't play his taxes. Sure, he wanted to get away with it but you should at least read his material, the man is not very good but the content is good.

I love Dr. Hovind.
Evolutionists hate him.

Aren't ministries supposed to be tax exempt?

This has been hashed so many times I almost didn't post. People aren't reading it because they know he is an idiot. If it was on the New York Times best seller list I wouldn't waste my time on his dribble..................................

Oh, My Gosh! I just looked out my window and saw a Tyrannosaurus Rex! It was being ridden by three pygmies from the congo. They told me dyno riding is pretty common among the pygmies as the congo is full of dinosaurs.

Who's to say some dinosaurs didn't survive until today?

Similar to the coelacanthus?

Well, I read it until I could not stop laughing.

I could not ignore the complete contradictions of the PDF file. The whole "Green Cheese" thing had me in tears. Why? Because all organized religion do the same exact thing. Let's have some supposed preposterous thing discovered and then worship it. Be it a gourd or a shoe. It is all the same.

Then there is the going on about if evolution were true then life is just about partying and passing on our genes! Yeah, okay. Another contradiction. Worship the almighty, follow the rules and get into the kingdom. I've sinned, I have really, really sinned. Hell, I was born, that is one of the biggest right there. So the only point of being born and living is to worship a so-called creator, just so I can live with said individual in the afterlife? I should just off myself now if this is the case.

It really, at least to me, was all just opinions and conjecture.

He doesn't know. I don't know. That is the fun of it: the ride.

Thanks for the reply, my post was a quick post and didn't fully express my view concerning the lack of viewing the booklet. I agree with you, I like the ride.

To the green cheese thing, can you show me what 'you' believe is contradictory?

The having fun thing isn't a contradictory, it's simply an opinion. A contradiction is when a 'fact' is present and there is obvious disregard for the 'fact'.

I'm 15 and not too sure about being born is considered a 'sin' but that may be true. I read the Bible and am not part of any denomination other than using the Bible as my only source of information.

No, the only purpose of life is not to worship God 24/7. I go to church every Sunday and read my Bible every night for about 15 to 20 minutes. That isn''t my main purpose. God rejoices when I will marry, get a job, graduate, etc.

Although I disagree with Mr. Hovind saying that if you're not of a religion you are without values. I find that wrong and believe that atheists do have a concept of values and morals. But, I however more believe more strongly that people who are followers of something (nothing radical) have the strongest set of them.

you shouldn't love him... i mean, he was outwitted by ali g...

in fact, here's a thorough rebuttal of pretty much anything and everything he's said

and he uses that term "Doctor" so loosely
he's a "Doctor" of evangelism...

Aren't ministries supposed to be tax exempt?

it isn't recognized as such. he either didn't apply or couldn't meet the requirements.

and...well...
here's the full story

Hovind is a liar, making money from lies he sells to gullible people who want to hear his lies.

He begins his series of several hundred lies on page for of the Acrobat document: "Some people believe in the evolution theory, which teaches that we all came from a rock 4.6 billion years ago." Great big lie.

From 1972 until 1974, Hovind attended the non-accredited Midwestern Baptist College and received a Bachelor of Religious Education (B.R.E.).[6] In 1988 and 1991 respectively, Hovind was awarded a master's degree and doctorate in Christian Education through correspondence from the unaccredited Patriot University in Colorado Springs, Colorado (now Patriot Bible University in Del Norte, Colorado which no longer offers this program).

Being un-accredited does not necessarily make a college or University a diploma mill!
Maybe some of the requirements are arbitrary and require non-Christian (anti-Christian) ethics to be taught.
Some private institutions choose to not gain accreditation, but, they should still set their standards high.
I mean Paul the apostle was highly educated.

Having a website called "Dr. Dino," has provoked some academics to closely look at how Hovind presents his education and credentials.[12] Chemistry professor Karen Bartelt has said that it is "very unusual for a person with a Ph.D., even a real one," [emphasis in original] to list oneself in the phonebook as "Dr Hovind", as Hovind has done"

Well, that's just one person's nit-picking opinion.

Here's some other stuff that he believes.
I can't say I disagree with much of it.

Hovind has several conspiracy theories about the U.S. government. He believes that Laetrile actually works as a "cancer cure" and teaches that the US government is conspiring to suppress a cure for cancer.[22] On his radio program he has said that the U.S. government was behind the 9/11 attacks and that a "lot of folks were told not to come to work."[67] He also believes the Oklahoma City bombing was carried out by the government. "Did you know the Federal Government blew up their own building to blame it on the militias and to get rid of some people that weren't cooperating with the system?"[68] He also alleges that "UFOs are apparitions of Satan" and that the US government possesses UFOs.[68] Additionally, Hovind believes that the Federal Reserve, the Council on Foreign Relations, the United Nations, and various other groups are actively planning to create a one world government and that the 1993 World Trade Center attack was staged by the US Government in order to pass "anti-terrorism" legislation that restricts civil liberties. He says, "I love my country, but fear my government. And you should too."[69]

As part of his "one world government" conspiracy theory, Hovind also believes that HIV, West Nile Fever, Gulf war syndrome, chronic fatigue syndrome, multiple sclerosis, Wegener's disease, Parkinson's disease, Crohn's colitis, Type I diabetes, and collagen-vascular diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis and Alzheimer's were all engineered by "the money masters and governments of the world" for the purpose of global economic domination.

It would benefit you to read the articles again. The authors DO NOT propose that life evolved FROM rocks.

Are you engaged in spreading lies as well?

The First article;

Science Daily
"Synthesis of biomolecules from organic compounds dispersed in aqueous `soups' require a mechanism for concentrating the organic species next to each other, and biochemically significant polymers--like polypeptides and ribonucleic acids--must be protected from photochemical destruction by solar radiation."

Smith postulates that this chemistry could have been facilitated by silica-rich minerals(ROCKS)resembling zeolites, porous crystals(ROCKS)with channels running through them. Most zeolites are hydrophilic--water-loving--and tend to absorb water from their surroundings. But certain synthetic zeolites are organophilic, preferentially absorbing organic materials out of water."

AND
Astrobiology Magazine asserts;

"Summary (Nov 14, 2006):"Over the last half century, researchers have found that mineral surfaces(ROCKS) may have played critical roles organizing, or activating, molecules that would become essential ingredients to all life, such as amino acids (the building blocks of proteins) and nucleic acids (the essence of DNA). But which of the countless possible combinations of biomolecules and mineral surfaces(ROCKS) were key to this evolution?"

Notice my under-lining technique.
Water flowing over the rocks created a chemical reaction with the molecules?? creating life.
Just as Dr. Hovind accused.

So is Hovind really that stupid or does does he just do it for a joke?

It's really a case of spot the fact amongst the lies, out of date information, missing information, general non sequiters and other misleading nonsense .......

And I love the way he claims something didn't happen, fails to provide the information that shows it did happen, and then offers an alternative explanation with no evidence whatsoever to support it other than the word of the Almighty Ken Hovind (just see his imaginary lake which suddenly drained in a matter of weeks to form the Grand Canyon as a good example! )

You are as wrong as Hovind and either are unable to comprehend the material or are purposefully attempting to deceive.

The method proposed in the articles is not suggesting "life came from rocks" period. By claiming the material say otherwise, you're promoting falsehoods.

Hovind does make a couple of good points. The first is about the evolution of the horse which was hurriedly placed in a linear order and is currently taught to this day in schools - I know because I have taught it.

Secondly, the case of the peppered moths is a strong example of natural selection and has recently been shown to be factual but only shows natural selection.

Regarding the apparent irreducible complexity of the bacterial flagellum, he is wrong. Bacterial mutations exist which retain movement so in this case, we have to reject Hovind's and Behe's argument.

University of Chicago geophysicist Joseph V. Smith, in a Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences paper published Tuesday, March 31, provides a theory for how small organic molecules may have been able to assemble on the surfaces of minerals into self-replicating biomolecules--the essential building blocks of life.

(emphasis mine)

The statement "on the surfaces of" that I emphasized above should be a sufficient statement for anyone with a rudimentary reading comprehension to understand.

Smith postulates that this chemistry could have been facilitated by silica-rich minerals resembling zeolites, porous crystals with channels running through them.

(emphasis mine)

Again, a clearly expressed statement, "could have been facilitated", is of sufficient clarity for those with basic reading comprehension skills.

Those who are not attempting to twist basic words into deceptive falsehoods will understand these statements to clearly indicate the hypothesis presented is not suggesting "life came from rocks".

Good grief. This guys problem with evolution is that it gives him a moral crisis because if no-one is telling him how to be nice to people, he doesn't see the point?

His little list on page 7 was wonderful. Yes, each point was true. The utter, cold, uncaring truth. It is a shame the universe is like that, but what are you gonna do?

Man should be proud of the achievements he makes for himself, like the concepts of mercy, justice, charity and love. Why should we feel like we should pass the kudos for these incredible feats to someone else? We did it, we should pat ourselves on the back.
