I guess you'll kinda have to read this for yourself. It's discussing how can there be more matter than anti-matter...it should be the same.

Well through experimentation and looking at nature, this is an over-simplified view into the world of creation. The Higgs particles (I've heard of it before and still am not sure what it is) is the particle that has mass, they link to this being important because this only occurs at temperatures like now, when the universe is mostly transparent.

But in super hot temperatures....many many billions of degrees, particles do not have mass, so well, for the benifit for all to learn, read this child version of unsolved mysteries.

Yeah, but according to theory, the Higgs particles come out of the Higgs field where there is no mass.

Note that this guy is not even speaking about symmetry breaking, which is considered one of the most probable causes. And actually matter and anti-matter do behave differently...

Presently there is more matter than antimatter in the universe thats why we do exist and discuss things like that !!!Before the big bang matter and radiation where trapped in a form thah we cannot explain in terma of physics so far ,apparently the laws of physics where quite different at that time .Recall that when an electron collides with a positron they annihilate producing electromagnetic radiation :e+e=g+g.
If matter and antimatter where in the same amounts then we should have a universe of radiation only !!!But that is not happening at all.Why is that ??Matter is more than antimatter ,that ia a fact.Recall also the most famous beta decay:n=p+e+antineutrino,or a neutron decays to a proton plus an electron and an antineutrino of the electron .This is also the most famous weak interaction because the particles responsible for this interaction are the (W,Z bosons).
Look at this now : A neutron consists of 3 quarks udd,so from 2down and 1up ,the proton from uud, therefore udd becomes uud .What happened is that if you compare the left and the right hand-side one down quark has been converted to one up quark through the weak force-interaction W.Therefore the neutron has been converted to a proton through W particle ,actually protons and neutrons are the same particles !!!But W,Z bosons have mass !!In generall where the mass came from ??Here comes the Higgs particle !!
The Hibbs particle is here to explain why the particles have mass ,like electrons ,neutrinos w,z and so on .What the model suggests is that the particles interact with the Higgs particle and they gain mass, another example is that high energy radiation will form a particle that is different from a low energy radiation when they interact or shallow the Higgs particle .Actually my belief is that there is no such particle we just roaming around something nuch more deep.......
All particles are different forms of the same mediator the energy .
Don't forget that at high temperatures and therefore high speeds we can see only enrgy in the form of radiation as thinks cool down we can see particles !!!!And it is more probable that if the universe continues to expand then we will see particles that cannot exist today!!!!!
A very good topic with a lot of uncertainty in it !!!!
