Click the link under the panoramic shot of the lake bed.....Upper left center..Metal looking object..???


Remember it was NovusOrdoMundi author of the original port that displayed this pic..I just noticed it when looking at the pic

I can understand that you're excited and just want people to view the picture because you think it's important, but it's not really appropriate for the "Breaking News" forum. One it's not news and two, you can't start a thread just to draw attention to another thread.

I'm sure a moderator will be along soon to explain it all.

It doesnt look like something thats formed by nature. Altough you never know. If this isn't a part of the marsrover then it could be space junk or maybe even ET related.
When enlarged it looks like thick metal, no foil.
Very interesting

The object in the picture is part of the heatsheild off the decent , it pops off to allow the balloons to inflate and saftly land.

It's located a little more leftish than the shield.

As I said in this post on the "Space Exploration Forum" regarding the possibilty of Bonneville crater being a lake bed:

the object to the left of heat shield is the rest of the lander that Spirit rolled off of. The landing site was only 200 meters from this crater.
