Their is a semi-automatic AK-type shotgun available to the general public called the Saiga. It utilizes AK parts but has some changes on the reciver to accomidate shotgun shells. I plan on getting one soon and they have several models that come in .21, .20 and .410. The 12 Guages are said to have less recoil to that of a traditional shotgun, but when you fire fast or bumpfire you will start feeling the bruising a few minutes after shooting instead of right after..the pain builds up on you.

I have recently seen this demo via e-mail and and disgusted these corpoations(blackwater) are now testing these for our military. The privitization of our military deletes the oversight of our leaders and cannot be tolerated. Look into Blackwater you will learn this corp. is allowed to have a privitized army complete with warships and tanks. These are citizens!! They build it right on our capital's doorstep in geographical location. But I can't buy one. I am looking into starting my own corporation of this nature to see if it is allowed and if everyone attempts to do the same we will cut the head from the serpent!! Please support this objection and attempt to create your own similar corp.

I'm not a big fan of Blackwater (specifically), or of "Military Contractors" (in a general sense).

As for whether or not you can purchase / own one of these monsters, I believe that you can, indeed do so...but you will need a Federal Firearms License. Contact the BATF for details, and be prepared to write a fairly hefty check. It's possible, but it's not cheap.

oh man I want one! I love the little grenade rounds! This is the weapon that you will see police swat teams start carrying around with them pretty soon.

I think it's time for me to save up some dough to get me one of these sweet sweet guns. I am drooling here

Cover your eyes!

um I think that the video is broke man. ColdWater what were you trying to show us?

Ahh, I see, currently only YouTube and Google videos are supported for ATS. they use the imbed codes [yvid ] [/yvid ] for YouTube videos and [gvid ] [/gvid ] for Google Videos (without the spaces of course)

I like flamethrowers except for the problem of getting shot in the tanks and dying from the inevitable explosion that results.

The AA-12 is a pretty sweet piece of technology. I am falling in love with this rifle the more I look into it.

Here is some stats on it. Defense Review - Auto Assault 12

Military Police System, out of Piney Flats, Tennessee, has come out with a unique select-fire 12-gauge combat/tactical shotgun called the "Auto Assault 12 Automatic Shotgun", or "AA12 Automatic Shotgun". The full-auto-only Auto Assault 12 Automatic Shotgun fires at a relatively slow rate of 300 rpm (rounds-per-minute) and employs the "Constant-Recoil" principle, which is a recoil attenuation/mitigation system that was first invented and patented for utilization in a gas-operated weapon by legendary small arms designer/developer L. James Sullivan for the Ultimax 100 LMG (Light Machine Gun), back in the late 1970's. "Constant-Recoil" allows a lightweight gun to outhit a heavier gun on full-auto.

Freaking sweet!

I wonder at whether this would be classed as a heavy weapon...

It certainly looks like light armour wouldn't stand a chance against this kind of firepower.

Well it's classified as Close Quaters I believe. The weapon itself does not have a caliber to be classified as heavy. A good example of a heavy weapon is the Browning M2, ultra heavy weapons become known as Auto Cannons (machine guns with calibers exceeding 20mm, used extensively as anti-air artillery).

The AA-12 is still just a light weapon, it's used by individual infantry and used as a rifle with its high-cyclic rate of fire. It's good to up to how much they said? 200 yards?

Shattered OUT...

Like I said in other posts, an automatic shotgun is NOTHING new.

The Pancor Jackhammer, the USAS-12, the Hk CAWS are all examples of automatic shotguns.

the AA-12 just got more publicity due to the explosive rounds I assume.
