Has no one noticed that presidential candidate Barack Mohammed Hussein Obama's full name not only includes a false prophets name Muhammed.. a dictators name Hussein.. Barack is very similar to Iraq and well lets not even get into Obama vs. Osama... If all the signs of concern are not already ever so clear. The mass crowds that are being drawn to his campaign rally are overwhelmed with a sense of new hope and happiness in such a way that it is being compared to a religious revival.. Some even suggesting he could start his own religion. In the apocalyptic times we live today I am only left to wonder what role does this mystery man have to play in our futures. He is has no strong political background, leadership experience and no significant accomplishments that provide him the foundation of a Commander in Chief. Yet he is well on his way to becoming our next president. His speeches are not to be compared to the great words of MLK , JFK, Lincoln and Eddison. Yet people are so swooned at his rallys by his words that some have even fainted from overwhelment. Where do you think this man and may I emphasize that he is just a man ... lead us???????????

That -- is -- weird! I never noticed that before. Good post!

Minor correction. Not everyone can be President. You have to be at least 35 years old, and you have to be a natural born citizen of the USA (you can't be a "naturalized" citizen, a strange quirk of the US constitition.)

You also cannot have been convicted of a felony. And you can not have previously served two terms as President. And you cannot have been previously impeached and removed from office by the Congress.

Outside of that, I don't think there are any other requirements. Maybe someone else knows in more detail.

EDIT: You know what else I just noticed? That "Obama" sounds very similar to "Osama", as in "Osama Bin Laden." Another weird coincidence! Go figure.

..

No one is even phased by these connections.. not to mention his father is a muslim... now nothing against muslims.. but aren't we at war in the muslim countries...

The Obama slander machine is out in full force.

I agree with you on one thing, anyone can be President, just look the last two we have had. Worst of the worst.

If ANYONE considers a man's given name in how they vote, they should not vote at all.

People like that have no sense of REALITY and does not consider the actual RELEVANT information.

Basically, anyone who does that has an IQ in the double digits.

What? I don't get it.

You mean we shouldn't be voting against someone just because their family name sounds somewhat similar to the name of the arch enemy of the United States?

If that isn't suppose to determine my vote, for the most powerful office in the USA, what is? What is?

Hmmm. Let me think.

Oh yeah. I guess I see your point. Wow! Never mind.

Thanks Bigbert. All clear now!

Look, Buck, I know it's weird. In fact, it's extremely strange. But if you could, just this once, look at something other than his name, you MIGHT vote for him.

I know, I know. Sounds crazy, right? I mean his name DOES have Hussein in it. His parents must've known he'd be running for president one day when they named him.

Anyway, always good to hear I've saved the day once more. Now, I hear a damsel in distress, so if you'll excuse me...

First of all, "Barack Mohammed Hussein Obama" is not the man's name.

on the January 6 broadcast of the nationally syndicated Live on Sunday Night, It's Bill Cunningham, conservative radio talk-show host Bill Cunningham repeatedly referred to Democratic presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama (IL) as "Barack Mohammed Hussein Obama." In fact, "Mohammed" is not a part of Obama's name.
Media Matters: Conservative radio host Cunningham falsely referred to "Barack Mohammed Hussein Obama," advanced madrassa falsehood

Second of all, Saddam Hussein was not even a dictator when Obama was born. Saddam didn't become powerful in Iraq until the late 1970's, and Barack was born in 1961. Further, "Hussein" is a common Arabic name, meaning "handsome, beautiful."

The rest of your argument seems to hinge on Revelations, which scholars insist refers to the Roman period of Christian persecution. Who knows if they're right or not, but the point is, you appear to be basing your argument on a contentious source.

I understand that many people have misgivings about Obama as a candidate, as do I, but your stated argument essentially boils down to religion, and that is quintessentially un-American, not in the "You're either with us or against us" kinda way, but according to the Constitution. I don't mean to be harsh, but that's how I see it.

Thanks Hottie, this is really a good post. (Much better and more useful than any oblique humor I was trying to inject into this thread. )

You are absolutely right! This whole discussion runs completely against the USA American ideal, and the post powerful principles we share. It isn't really a joking matter. Starred!

I have posted a new thread as a part II which I encourage you to read... all I have to say is keep watching your little magic box called TV.. because when reality hits.. it will hit hard... so you might as well delay the enevtitable as long as possible.

I personally am absolutely NOT offended, Neariah.

It is a very emotional and provocative issue, and a good topic for ATS. I value your opinion, and will watch for your other threads. It is always good to make people think.

Stay cool! Please keep up the good work!

Oh, you mean facts like Mohammed being in Obama's name?

Just curious, but how exactly did you come across this FACT?

And let me ask you, why in the world does someone's name matter? It's almost as if you are digging for whatever reason you can to justify NOT voting for Obama.

Other than the fact that "anyone can grow up to be president" is part of the national myth... this post is a load of horse manure.

So this is how the right wing smear machine intends to swift boat Barack Obama, should he be the Democratic nominie.

You people have no shame.

First off as Harlemhottie pointed out Hussien is a common name in the middle east and north and east African region and it is used by many people, Muslim, Christian and Jewish alike.

Case in point Saddam Hussien's propaganda minister Aziz Ali had a Arab/Muslim name (Ali was after all the name of the prophet's nephew) but he was famously Christian.

Second, as she also pointed out Muhammad is not in his name at all.

I guess since using the race card this time around won't work for the Republicans, they have to try and use religion (or something like it) instead.

By making an issue of his name, a vile tactic if you ask me, you are implying that he is a Muslim and as such unfit to be president. That somehow if he were elected he would immediately turn around and sell us out to Osama Bin Laden.

What a bloody joke.

What would you do if the first Chinese/American (and he was a Democrat) to run for president had Sze Tung in his name, would you then imply that because his common Chinese name was shared with Mao, that he was unfit to be president because he would immediately sell us out to the Chinese?

Wow, well said. Good post. Starred.

It seems that you're in a 'debunking ludicrous ideas' type of mood, so don't forget to check out Part II of the ingenius thread.

Why the OP needed 2 parts, I don't know. Either way, both of them are 'bloody jokes'.

Actually, he has been compared to JFK by Kennedy's daughter, Caroline, and his brother Ted. JFK was also a senator when he was elected and considered very young for a president. Obama has already acknowledged the influence of Martin Luther King in his life and his oratory. I'm not aware that Edison (I assume you mean Thomas Alva Edison, the inventor of the light bulb) ever gave any speeches. I personally am not afraid of where this man might lead us.

Barack what -ever Obama sucks ! And theres no more to it. He is wet behind the ears liberal commie who wants to bring about a socialist renaissance by turning the US into some welfare state. Even Ted Kennedy has more brains that Obama!

And when it comes down to the fact of what exactly has Obama ever done for anybody to even look at him, nobody can give a straight answer without saying something like; "He promoted/associated/encouraged some bill drafted by somebody else". In short he did what he was paid to do! Surprise!!

Give me a break, the dems as usual can talk for a day and say nothing.

Wow, another post based completely on fiction.

Tell me, why don't you actually research your statements before saying them? It would make sense.

Here's a little reading for you: thinkonthesethings.wordpress.com...

And believe it or not, there are other sites out there to learn from. Give 'em a try before you go throwing untrue posts around so casually.

What I'm waiting to see is whether his full and complete name will appear as such on the ballot.

..or will there be a move to have his middle names removed?

Maybe he should start calling himself Mo Obama
