According to REM research and other studies, we dream about 5 times a night, which equals about six hours of total dream time a night. Over a lifetime, according to these statistics, we dream about 136,00 times in a lifetime.

5 dreams a night is amazing like 5 diffrent views of life or diffrent ppl and the time spent on dreaming is quiat amazing preety intresting i tell ya

It's odd you should post this as I was thinking something similiar last night. I thought that maybe dreams were kinda what we experienced in a previous life. Except the surroundings match our current surroundings and some are changed altogether but have a hidden meaning.

Wow SaadAdam are you reading my mind!

I was just talking to my family last week about the possibility that dreams may be a visual of our other lives in other times or universes.

I wanted them to try to remember their dreams in a different light so to speak. I rarely remember my dreams and the ones I do I can't recall for very long.

Amazing post thanks, heh I'm not crazy.

If that is the case, then I'm glad I'm living this one while I'm awake! I would have gone insane by now if things from my dreams happened to me in real life. There's only so many times I can be chased down by giant spiders before I lose my marbles!

I have wondered something like this myself.
Some dreams appear to memories of another life.. some appear to be a view to a life in perhaps a parrallel universe. And still others seem to be a peak into the current lifes future.

Hard to say for certain but I really do believe some are very ancient memories.

My dreams just tell me that somewhere out there a giant spider is biding it's time until it can chase me. That and that I need to start exercising so I can outrun it.

For those of you on this thread that haven't seen these videos, you will find them very informative:

This is the first of 5 parts.

The other great series is on the Pineal Gland. I'll look for it, but there was a thread started on it that lead me to these videos.

i've been contacted via my dreams from a friend that was killed. it was actually a dream THE morning after the night he was killed.

i woke up that morning with a disturbed look on my face, my wife asked what was wrong and i told her my dream. i left for work, and on my message machine at work there was a voice mail waiting of a good friend calling to tell me that my friend TJ was killed.

it was the biggest thing i have ever 'witnessed' in my entire life... and NOT a coincidence.

i know revere dreams as an alternate dimension. they are *something*. i don't know what, but it's not just imaginary.

Dreams are from the unconscious because they come upon us during the hours when we are asleep and not conscious at all.

CG Jung believes that there are two parts to the unconscious. There is the Personal Unconscious which mulls over past events in your life and 'kicks them' back at you in order for your consciousness to make sense of them. (like when you dream about work for example).

The second part is the Collective Unconscious, which is the combined experiences of ALL human beings. This is where you may be right about dreams coming from past lives. Not just your past lives, but the lives of everyone who has ever lived.

I kinda hope not, nearly all of my dreams are nightmares, speaks rather poorly of my other lives.

I believe some dreams are made up by your mind to tell you something or just give you a holiday from reality or maybe even punish those that feel they deserve to be punished with nightmares. but i also believe some dreams are real and your astral body has gone to another dimension because some of the people ive met while lucid dreaming have checked out to be real when examined closely so either some of these places are real or some of the people in them are real

Yea just noticed.

Just watched parts 1 to 5.. love anything like this.. makes me wonder what role lucid dreaming has to play in it all too and even OBE's. Thats if they have a role.

i wish they were.. I had a dream last night about a girl I dated long ago, and even though I was young and it didn't go very far I think we fell in love and I guess I'm still not over it 5 years later. It's pretty stupid and harsh but honestly I think I let the love of my life slip through my hands. Saw her at a carnival a while back, she didn't even stop to talk because she was with another guy. I guess I won't live it down.

They say if its meant to be we will meet again. I think the carnival was that time and shes way past me. What can a guy do ya know.. We grow and grow and try to change our lives for the better, and end up trying to live a new reality in our dreams.

Dreams exist to prevent us from psychosis. It is the dream which keeps us sane, because without spending half of our day in an altered reality we would be quite depressed, and schizophrenic due to stress, redundancy, etc. etc.

Dreams allow us to forget about our life and put it aside because it doesn't matter for a while and really just let ourselves go. A lot of people turn to drugs for this altered state of mind. As a result of turning to drugs however you lose some of your ability to dream.

They seem so real, yet nobody really knows if they are. When you are in one, you can reach out and touch, feel, smell, live, breathe, love, fly, climb, dive, see, interact, talk and have meaningful conversations. I have had conversations and woken up just to tell myself "I really couldn't have ever thought of that, was that a legitimate conversation?".

Specifically, yes dreams are another life. One in which we are able to experience many wonderful unearthly things first hand without responsibility of our jobs, and hassles of daily life. Another life in which to some extent you have the remote control, and can act on impulse without it affecting our "conscious" mind.

The question however that you are asking is, "Are dreams another reality in which you are interacting with other living breathing creatures in a very real atmosphere among many other living breathing creatures?". This question is obviously tough, and everybody has an opinion towards is. Sometimes, before we are completely in a dream state, I believe we have minor dreams which are controlled by our subconscious as well as conscious mind. However, once in a complete dream state of sleep, you are no longer at hand of the remote control, and I believe you are interacting with other living breathing creatures in a very real alternate atmosphere. The only question that remains is where are we when this happens and who are we really communicating with?

The amazing thing about science is how little they have to offer about the mind, dimensions, and the universe. They are subjects which we have not scratched the surface, although many will tell you otherwise. In my humble opinion, dreams are a parallel universe in which you can communicate with all forms of energy, ALL forms. This means the living, the dead, souls, other living dreamers, organisms and energy from parallel dimensions, energy from across space which has traveled faster than the speed of light because it was telepathic instead of travel the way we see it today.

I will leave you with a few extra questions to ponder which are directly related to the subject at hand -
Where do we all meet up? Is it in our chromosomes to know where this central "lounge" for energy is located? Is this information along with all of our past dreams located within our subconscious? Could we be organisms that are directly linked to the entire universe, right behind our nose, and not even know it?
