Here is the continuously updated list of those who recognize, and those who will not recognize Kosovo:

en.wikipedia.org...

Looks like only the U.S. allies are rallying behind Kosovo - and not even all of them. There are only so many U.S. allies in the world...

Over 1/2 of the world's population in terms of countries that represent it already do not recognize Kosovo independence. Russia, China and India and most likely Brazil will not stand for this farce.

I wonder since the USA is recognizing the new state of Kosovo if they will also recognize the new Lakota state that has declared independence right in their own backyard. I can't wait to see where the borders will be. The Lakota have said anyone is welcome to live there tax free, all they have to do is renounce their American citizenship. Yay, independences for everyone, I'm buyin'.

There might be more to this. While following up on this issue, I ran across this:

Huge deposits of oil and gas discovered in Albania

Pristine. Vast and untouched deposits of oil and gas have been discovered in Northern Albania, Reporter informed. The deposits total 2,987 Billion barrels of oil and 3,014 Trillion cubic meters of nature gas.

Another source: Vast oil reserves found in northern Albania

Northern Albania is next to Kosovo, is it not?

I just wonder with this, why northern ireland, cannot go back into a whole ireland again, before the british took it. Also the basque people in spain, will want there independence.

England want kosovo to be independent, but england cannot give the republic, back the north. Two faced what ever you call the english.

That's why Spain, Cyprus, Romania, Moldova, Georgia, and Canada among others do not want to recognize this independence. It has consequences for all of them related to separatist movements in those countries, and recognition of Kosovo will haunt them in the future. I think the UK feels more comfortable now that North Ireland calmed down a bit - but I would not be surprised if Kosovo gives IRA a reason to renew their struggle.

It's simple: USA has the largest military base in Kossovo. Camp BondSteel is the most important American base as we speak.

This is a game of Risk. Just like the board game. Fasten your seat-belts.

So much could be stirred up by this. Consider the northern districts of Kosova that are majority Serbian. Why can't they now vote to declare independence from Kosova and unite with Serbia.

Why can't Republika Srpska in Bosnia decide to declare independence and unite with Serbia?

Why can't the Croatian cantons in the Bosnia-Herzegovina Federation vote for independence and unite with Croatia?

And with the USA deciding to throw its weight behind the independence of Kosova, will the United States likewise recognise the Republic of Lakota within its own borders? Will the United States recognise other Native American peoples declaring their independence? Somehow I find it difficult to believe that the US government will be anything other than a hypocrite when it comes to recognition of the Lakota people's sovereign republic.

I would suspect that Kosova's independence will give fuel to the fire for Basque independence from Spain and Tibetan independence from China.

BUSH INC has a criminal behavior about them. So, it's opposite day everyday. They railroad the 911 Commission and piss of Russia regularly and say "what did we do? what? really?" Extra dangerous times from this point forward.

Does the US government have a committee that is taked with drafting excuses to pursue new invasions and "liberations". If not they should really consider making one, because it looks like they are going to need it.

Name it the "Federal Subterfuge and Extenuation Committee" - catchy, honest, and yet appropriate enough that nine tenths of the population won't know what it means.

TheComte and Pellevoisin;

The Lakota have not declared independence. Five activists (widely regarded as agitators) were the ones who put on that show. The tribal leadership just rolled their eyes and carried on as normal.

Kosovo has historically been the heart of Serbia, despite it being ethnically Albanian.

Initially I was fully in favour of Kosovan independance, now, I'm not so sure, and like Rockpuck and others I am suspicious of the motives behind so many countries recognising their independance.

I also wonder if the next step will be unification with Albania and what effects that will have in regional politics.

Like somebody posted earlier, the implications of this may be a proxy Al-Qaeda base within the heart of Europe. It has been documented that Al-Qaeda fighter and mujahadeen were sent to Bosnia during the war there so it would not be a surprise to me if Kosovo was being primed to be a starting point of future terrorist attacks within Europe by the "CIA Trained" Bin Laden group of accomplices.

It will basically become the backdoor of Europe giving access to middle eastern muslims into europe.

Just think about that.

So in theory the Muslim fighters where fighting WITH America against the Christian Serbs...

I am very confused on the issue.. I never expressed much interest in studying Baltic politics and history..

So it is good to learn from so many varying view points. I am still concerned by those who dismiss Kosovo independance simply because "there are to many countries" or "its against international law" .. Which is both BS.

However, if someone could explain to me why Kosovo is the heart of Serbian civilization?

Lets just say that Al Qaeda and the CIA has both agendas with Kosovo, one that the U.S. has interests in while Al Qaeda has their own interests in. Kind of like Afghanistan.

Because the majority of people in Northern Ireland don't want to be part of a united Irish Republic.
A very basic difference I think.

This has been discussed at length here
www.abovetopsecret.com...

And in numerous other threads, as you know.

bingo! not only does the US get their hands on the oil but they deprive Russia of their access to it... and as China weighs in, it becomes more and more important to control all the region's reserves...

and then there's the pipelines... just do a little google of "enron india natural gas...." just look what's next door...

"Since the early 1990s, Western oil companies have staked large investments in the Caspian region, though at the same time inhibited by the political - as well as technical - uncertainties. Among the most important operations are the following: 17
- Kazakhstan. On 6 April 1993, TengizChevroil (TCO), a consortium headed by US Chevron Corp. and including Kazakh Tengizneftegaz, was set up to exploit the Tengiz and Korolev oil fields by investing $20 billion over the contract's 40-year period. 18
- Azerbaijan. On 20 September 1994, an international consortium signed an $8 billion, 30-year contract to exploit the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli (ACG) oil fields. Run by the Azerbaijan International Operating Company (AIOC) and now headed by BP Amoco, the consortium includes among others the State Oil Company of the Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR). This was dubbed 'The Contract of the Century'. 19
- Azerbaijan. On 4 June 1996, a BP Amoco-led consortium signed a contract for the Shah Deniz gas reserves. 20
- Turkmenistan. As part of the Soviet Union, Turkmenistan was a major supplier of gas and continues to be. Companies such as Exxon Mobil and Dragon Oil have invested in the country. 21
- Kazakhstan. International consortium Offshore Kazakhstan International Operating Company (OKIOC) is expecting to confirm the existence of large reserves in the Kashagan oil field. 22"

source

shrouded in the "fight for independence", western oil interests will once again take up weapons to control and horde the world's energy supplies... sigh

the huge army base the US has built is there for one reason and one reason only... a shorter walk for soldiers guarding the barrels and steel piping...

same as it ever was...

A brutal NATO Pact annexation. As low as it gets.
