22 North Koreans found drifting at sea executed?

There are fears 22 North Koreans may have been executed after they were returned home having been picked up in boats in waters belonging to South Korea, a news report said on Sunday.

South Korea's Yonhap news agency quoted an unidentified intelligence source in Seoul saying that there has been a widespread rumour in the area where the 22 came from that all were shot dead early last week by the hard-line communist state.

They had been sent back home by South Korea on February 8...

The 22 -- eight men and 14 women -- were picked up by South Korean authorities in the South's waters, although the group said they had not been attempting to seek asylum and were fishing.

Wow. Executed for unauthorized fishing? I guess it's all good.

What's worse- political dissidence or trying to feed your family in a nation of starvation?

Those who are power hungry care not for the plight of "The Little People". I hope they weren't executed, if they were fishing just to feed their families then executing them for this mistake is a crime against humanity..We should have attacked NK as opposed to Iraq...Either way, we KNOW they have nukes.

That is a feeling shared by others. As to these 22 people, the easy way for Kim to avoid yet another red stain on his record is to produce the people involved, and throw a few fish in to help feed their families, to boot.

Kim could care less about saving face. He's ego-maniacal and sociopathic, and he's in power over several million completely impoverished, and wholly dependant people who are willing to kill for their meals and homes. He has a long track record of crimes against humanity, and has never made an apology and could care less what evidence you bring to the table. Remember that they went ahead with a nuclear test(that everyone forgot about apparently) right in Bush's face and!!! nothing.... Hmmm....We are still focused on Iran, and losing Iraq, and lost Afghanistan. All in the media muck...All to make us forget where our attention should be.
