Ghost? Aliens? Something I never told till now

Having lived in South East Louisiana near the mouth of the river, me and some friends I knew lived in a small city called Boothville-Venice, Louisiana which is about as far down south Louisiana as you can get.

My friend has had the experiences that just twist you in so many ways about whats happened, so I will try from memory things that has happened, but this was years ago in the early 90s I would guess, He have encounters with some guy in Black that would appear but he would appear far away and then just vanish in a blink of an eye, its very strange for the fact he look like some Zorro person or some guy in black with a Cape, I know this because I have seen this god forsaken thing myself one time and wondered...WTF... and this was in around 2000-2001 when I saw this thing.

But my friend has had some encounters with it in the exact fashion dating pretty far back, the encounters of this thing we would see only happens on the Levee which is levee to the Mississippi River, But he has had experiences no one can explain and he tells few about it, but in the early 90s he has had some encounters where in the middle of the night he would wake up and find himself scarred and possibly in a dream or something fighting with something, but the crazy part is he would end up outside in a road near his house when he woke up, similar accounts I believe he said had happened a 2-3 times and it might of even been more, if this dark being is involved is anyones guess. But I believe years after that it never happened again although this dark caped whatever the hell it is would sometimes appear unexpectedly, even one night I stayed at his house around 2000-2001 I think it was, sometime in that time period and at night we both awoke to the strangest aura that was so unpleasant that I literally thought something was going to come at us, it was as if something was by us but no one was there.

Then as time went on around that same time period, we would often mess around near the River which I guess the ACOE put large River Rocks there many years prior down behind the levee, so really you could go 40-50 feet or more behind the levee, we would make caves from old driftwood trees and often do all kinds of junk, it was like our base away our home at times. We had some stuff we hide and keep there now, including those eye scopes like Sailors used, sometimes we keep tools back there, alot of junk like that, then one night about midnight or after (Sadly again around that same time) this area we go to, caught fire some how. We dont know how the hell it happened, how it started, but the one thing we do know is, is that we kept the place a secret, it was our secret base, till this day the fire cannot be explained, sure its dry driftwood and all, but we never bought anything flammable to the spot, not even a lighter, it was the strangest thing I ever seen, to top it off, least from experience of living down in those parts for 20+ years, I not once seen a fire in the tree area beyond the levee until that happened in the precise location that we go some afternoons and morning times.

I need to talk with him again, I wonder if this was Alien interaction? Could it be Ghostly phenomena? Thats the questions, and my friend has a cousin that lives next door, he might of seen this black guy with a cape as well, but I dont know I have to see if hes seen it.

I will note one thing though, I dont know this areas past history, but what I do know is about 6 miles from this point North of here lies a Civil War battlefield if you can call it that, most of the action happened on the water though in which Fort Jackson and St Philip was engaged in a Naval Blockade on the water I think back in 1863.

Any idea?

that's very strange. Like a report right out of "Passport to Magonia" by Jacques Vallée. I need to find that book and give it another read, its been years since I blew my mind reading that book. It had stories like the one you posted that just leave you "slack jawed", but like your story , these crazy things happen. It (I think) makes it easier to deal with such things after reading, "Jacques Vallée", books.

It was announced just last week that they are re-releasing his "trilogy" of books, which are : dimensions, confrontations and Revelations. I still have all three of those in my collection, they are terrific, and can help quantify stories like the one you posted.

its very strange indeed, even though I only got a glimpse of this guy in black with a cape one time, I need to speak with my friend and see if he has better detail, I tried looking around for some history and backbone of the location, didnt find much about it rather then it being discovered in 1500's when the Mississippi River was discovered, its anyones guess as to what went on there, I thought maybe something happened and it went untold.

Its so darn strange for the fact this dark figure looks like something out of Europe in the ages before the U.S. was discovered.

Sarentack, did these events happen around Oct 31st by any chance? Especially the dude with the black cape?

Could the cape actually have been wings?

no it didnt happen around Halloween.

I am sure it was a black cape, the figure would always be in the distant, I would guess 400-500 yards in distance.

No strange phone calls that I know of.

and because I didnt think the secret was really that big of a deal, as far as I know after 2002 at the very least the sightings and all stopped.

Ghosts do not usually stop appearing suddenly. I have never heard of a caped alien. .... I just dont know

I dont know, I have to find out if it did stop appearing though as their was about a 2 year period or so in which we completely ignored the subject and I wasnt around in that time period after 2002, so I dont know.
