Has anyone seen this? 16 apparent suicide's in 1 year in Bridgend. Been following this story for a few months now and it's sad how so many youngsters from one area have apparently taken their own life.

There is a discussion here . Bridgend is an old mining town, seems like a cascade effect. Hope it's sorted soon

The police still say there are not necessarily linked - which is odd. Got to be more to it, I reckon the local drug dealers are cutting the drugs with something - lots of ecstasy pills get taken in Wales - that's where my money is.

Edit: change that, makes me look like I have money invested in drugs

I didn't know that ecstasy gets taken in large amount in Wales.
But how does that link to the increasing number of suicides?

Well apart from the obvious fact that regularly messing with you brain that way will have side effects. The raw drug is only a very small amount of the pill, the rest could be anything, possibly antidepressants or other medication stolen from pharmacy's? It's just an viewpoint but the way it's so localised would suggest to me that this group have been using the same supply. Or the deaths of a few has started a snowball effect in others that may or may not of used the drugs. E was an example, could be weed or herione, it's always said that there is very little to do there for younger people, not many good paying jobs either.

Yeh i caught on the point that you have made about young people not having to do much and get poorly paid.

If thats the case than the government is in blame because they should do more to persuade young to stay in education for better future with well payed jobs.

Or get the minimum wage rate up or reduce tax cuts.

Young people have nothing to do?

What crap! I didn't have a playstation or a xbox or a mobile phone or much money as a young teenager. What they really don't have is any freakin brain cells or imagination.

I grew up in a poxy out of the way town that I hated, I was bored as hell a lot of the time, but I didn't feel the need to stick copious amounts of illegal substances in my body, but I also wouldn't rule out a drugs related link here.

Society is seriously messed up. Kids are brain washed from such a young age these days, if they don't have something then it's some kind of personal disaster and off they wonder and top themselves.

How can 16 sets of parents not see something wrong with their kids, I'm guessing that other parents in the area will NOW be paying a little attention to their offspring.
