President Bush said Friday that "our country is in more danger of an attack" because of Congress' failure to extend a law that makes it easier for the government to spy on foreign phone calls and e-mails that pass through the United States.

Democrats, in turn, accused Bush of fear-mongering and misrepresenting the facts.

What is wrong with this man? What, possibly is the point of pitting his own citizens against each other, creating fear and chaos in a huge wake behind him? I have little hope for the U.S. specifically and for the world in general while this man continues his empire building.
What a shame people want to shoot innocent victims in their own country when there are insane criminals running it.

In the real world, they do not need congress to pass any laws, to do this sort of thing.
Amazing your society is.

Oh boy, I saw his speech this morning acting like a brat because he can no get his cronies, I mean his private friends the bail out they need to spy on citizens unrestricted.

What a joke
he really look like a child with a tantrum.

I E-mail my representative two times and gave them a piece of my mind on this bill, but we all know that this bozos in congress do not listen anymore to the American people.

I think this may show that this is nothing but fear mongering. Trying to scare the american people so he and his business buddies can be immune to the law. Little does he know people are starting to wake up to this endless rhetoric.

Heres some more info on FISA that Bush don't want you to know about, written yesterday.

Which clearly shows we will not be unprotected, unless Bush makes it so by his own orders.

One of the only people or persons putting the US in danger happen to reside in the White House and wherever Cheney is shacked up these days...Under a bridge perhaps?

This man simply does not know when to stop. One of these days he's going to wake up and there's going to be a lynch mob outside the White House wanting his blood.

Can't say I blame him either, but boy is he an idiot.

What a loser. Like Congress hasnt given him everything he wants on a silver platter...this is just a show...they WILL let him do whatever he wants.

I have to say something about the school shootings before it kills me: "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star"

You figure it out.

Where there's a potential for fear, there WILL be fear.

I agree it doesn't take too much mental effort to see that this is not about Americans security but this is an effort to grant corporations, Bush friends and Co. the ability to get immunity for anything they do that has to do with violating the constitution and be unscathed.

This sound more like mafia than anything else and that is what I told In my E-mails to my representative I also said that they need to step away from the fascist out of the door president because he is going to cost them their seats.

I hope that is many Americans out there that got in contact with their state leaders on this.

As everyone should know that no one Republican was against this bill.

At risk of a one line post, I am perplexed by this.
There is a thread currently about the increase in public shootings ATS thread
with a theory that more economic pressure on individuals translates into this type of senseless violence.
I believe this to be accurate, however, I also believe that individuals, on some levels, are merely reflections of those who govern them.

Bush's administration is guilty of senseless, truth-less violence throughout the world and lays the blame at anything that moves around him. There is no doubt in my mind that the fear-mongering he is so quick to address contributes to the dis-ease and anxiety of the citizens.

Kinda just like on 9/11?

See this is what worries me about Dubya and Co. If he does not get what he wants, he proves his point by allowing America to be attacked. Even once he is out of office, the NEOCONS still have all the money, mercenaries (Blackwater), and weapons.

Dubya is in office for 339 more days! He IS the 911 pound dry-drunk Gorilla in the room! The guy can't even read a six word sentence off his notes without screwing up. I think we should be nice little lambs till the big bad wolf can't declare martial law... the we layith the smack down on his sorry butt and give him a life time vacation in Leavenworth! And his little Cheney dog too!
