Did you know Romney had 4 million votes but McCain had 4.7 million...

But Romney only had 200ish delegates to McCains 700ish?!

And no one screams for reform? Everyone is more worried about social healthcare...

Geez your current president didnt even win the majority vote!

Absolutely 1000% agree with you.

And this super delegate crap only makes it that much better.

Of course, I wouldn't have voted for Romney if you'd paid me, but I completely agree with you.

So who are these delegates? We must find the list of office addresses of the delegates and flood their inboxes and voicemails!!! Our demands will be met people!!

  • Is there a ageny website?
  • Are there any NGO's archiving the participants?
  • Do we require a Freedom of Information Act investigation?

WE MUST FIND THE ANSWERS TO THESE QUESTIONS IF WE ARE TO BEGIN HANDLING THE ISSUE AT HAND NOW!

You're mixing apples and oranges. The President was elected without the popular vote because of the electoral college. Delegates i believe are important during primary elections to the GOP and the DNC. They each have and choose their own delegates. Many delegates are senators, house representatives, judges, former presidents, speakers, etc. At least in the case of the DNC, all DNC members are super delegates this year.

Regular delegates are fine. They award delegates based on population so it's a simpler way of deciding. That make sense to me. What doesn't make sense to me is that, in a country where we are all created equal, super delegates votes are equal to 16,000 regular votes. In my opinion, super delegates should reflect how their region votes. Many super delegates believe, however, that since they are generally much more informed, their vote should count for more. Many are political activists for example.

For a list of delegates and who has pledged where thsu far, visit this site.

I couldn't agree anymore. Elections should be fought out trying to get the most votes. He/She who has the most votes wins. delegates should be thought of, but not in such a big manner.

The delegate and super delegate system is too easy to corrupt. Especially when each super delegate vote is worth 16,000 regular votes!

To me it's not even an issue of being corrupt or not. It's just flat out not fair that some dude down the streets vote could be mine multiplied by 16,000. And why? Because he is part of the DNC? I might know more about politics than he does and be in a better position to make an educated decision on this matter, but he still gets to vote 16,000 times to my one. That's not very equal to me.

Then answer me this.

If everyone knows its an unfair system... WHY do the people still accept it.

Well that's the thing. Everyone doesn't know it's an unfair system. Most people think it's a straight up popular vote, and they don't even know what delegates are. I have been very into politics for a few years now and just the other night i figured out what a super delegate is.

People don't think about it, because at the end of the day they don't care.
