Also I noticed in the report of this in the Portsmouth local paper an acquaintance mentioned this...

"I was on the same uni course as Hab (He didn't graduate the same year as me due to his lack in commitment). He was partial to using Photoshop to make fake images and get himself noticed, it appears as though he is desperate for fame!"

If that is true then I feel sorry for him, His photo's won't last long here. I'm sure he would be glad to hear that his pic made the rounds at ATS.

You're not from Eastern Canada by any chance are you Mike? The "what?" on the end of your statement caught my eye as being a colloquialism from my part of the world.

Anywho, "n00bie" here. Long time observer first time poster.

If the photographer claims to have only noticed this object after transferring the images to his computer, where did the second close up/clear image come from?
If, as I just realized, it is just zoomed in from the original image then disregard my question/comment.

Just wanted to get my voice on the forum

I am curious if Hab is short of Habibur. A quick search of that shows a website that sells greeting cards and photos. His alternative/art photography works a lot with manipulation.

Hi-
Is the little shot the OP put up the only size we have/or was released? Is there any higher resolution one?

If there isn't, there's very little sense in me looking at it...it's just not of a quality I can do any examination with.

Took some photos of a weird light that was in the sky last night over Walthamstow. London Bewteen 00.35 and 2am
It was a round light that seemed to chage colour. Took some close ups with Camera and could see the two lights moving all over the place through the view screen

I have what I think is the answer, but I'm working with a very small image that I don't like to base too much on. However, what I have come across is rather striking. The shape of the bottom of the "craft" looked *exceedingly* familiar to me. Really, VERY familiar.

I'll have to make up some images to illustrate the point and similarities (which I'll do after work tonight), one of them so subtle, it's solidified the idea to me.

But again, it's a low res shot and you guys can make the call.

More tonight.

Not to be a skeptic just for the sake of being a skeptic but how can someone not notice a UFO in the sky while they're taking a picture- especially one as clear and close as that one? Honest question. Due to the angle, it would appear to be in motion so it would seem it would have caught the photographer's eye at the time. Even if was being completely still, how could you miss it? Especially a photographer concentrating on the scene he wants to catch? Not saying it is fake or authentic but it does pique my curiosity to know how he could only have noticed this after the fact. Any ideas anyone?

Serendipitously, I found this on the Intertubes while researching another photo. All nice and ready to paste into your photo needing a "UFO"!

It is a PERFECT match in shape and highlight features to the Portsmouth UFO.

Take a look.

Great find IAttackPeople. Starred!

Could we get a second opinion from the image experts?

Actually I got a better one...

Look at the lower edge, highlighted by the arrows, bump for bump left, and uneven slope right:

Now, check the overlay, noting the bottom edge and periferal edge of the disc:

Look at the arrow at the beginning of this animation: note in the Portsmouth shot, we see a dark "bump" with a faint light edge on it. Now watch where that barely perceptible edge lines up to when the composited animation goes over.

Also note, where the highlight gleam on the composited craft...lines up with the Portsmouth UFO.

You can almost see the concentric bumps (disc circles) on the Portsmouth shot, as well as the composited "craft".

You might be saying "the top of the crafts dont match!"

You're right, they don't...because the Portsmouth has had a small lens flare feature added to obscure the telling sign of it's origins. Note the different pixelation around that "glow" at top...as far as I can see, it differs from the rest of the photo.

Now, 3 Guesses where the composite craft came from.

This is about as good as I can do, with such a small image. Hope you guys can decide amongst yourselves.

With such compelling evidence, how can one not yell: "Debunked!"

But seriously, jritzmann, I love what you did with those little animations

luckey2, when you observed the bizarre lights, did you see the streaks shown in the pictures or is this motion blur from the camera?

(I'm not sure if motion blur is the correct term, but I'm talking about the object moving too fast in comparison to the shutter speed of the camera)
