New Delhi, Feb 07: Ahead of the negotiations to revise the Gorshkov aircraft carrier agreement, Russia on Thursday said the initial price of 1.5 billion dollars worked out for the deal was "unrealistic" and needed revision.

But Russia is willing to "compensate" for the cost of Gorshkov if it gets more military orders, which Moscow insists is not linked to 126 fighter planes that India is planning to buy but other defence purchases

bharat-rakshak.com...

well usually when you sign a contract the cost is fixed

oh wait this is the defence industry and they make it all up as they go along

Well, lets see what Iskander has to say about that...
I believe he seems to have a different opinion on this; maybe due to his local info.

hmm..
true if it gives India a strategic capability against China..
But its not a direct arms race sale; at least not this a/c carrier. The carrier is for
the IOR and not the Chinese backyard.

EDIT: India now willing to pay the difference?
