This isnt going to be a terribly interesting thread but on my way from Columbia, SC to Jackson, SC last night at about 6:50EST, I happened to look up and saw what could only be described as an orangish light moving extremely fast.

I don't have any aviation background so I can only speculate on it's altitude and speed but from my perception it was flying higher than an airplane and moving at least 10x-20x as fast as you would expect an airplane to move.

It could have just been a meteor, bouncing off the atmosphere maybe? Didnt leave too much of a trail, just a slight orangeish one behind it which didn't stick around.

Sighting lasted only 2-3 seconds. I was wondering if anyone else was looking up and saw it too?

I can comfirm it I saw the very same Orange orb lasting around 5 seconds here in North Miami Beach, Florida around 6 months ago. I was with my fiancee on the car and I was the only one who saw it. It was and Orange Orb and rapidly made an upward movement and I saw it disappear in space.

I didn't see it but
it sounds like a meteor scooting off earth's atmosphere.
the orange tint could be heat amassing from the friction.

That's the most likely explanation. It was cool to see anyhow.
