Human/Monkey Hybrid or HIGHLY Unusual Birth Defect?

This is one of the most disturbing videos I've seen in awhile. It shows what looks to be a human/monkey hybrid of some kind..

While I know that cloning and mutation 'experiments' are taking place everyday (and have been for decades), I have to wonder if this is really a hybrid being passed off as a defect, or just an honest freak of genes.

If it *is* in fact a genetic defect, what is it and why does this happen? There absolutely MUST be an explanation if this is an actual, naturally occurring thing.

Any opinions or ideas?

The explanation is that there are flaws in our DNA that occasionally rear up. They range from minor to major defects. So, I'm going with defect, wish i knew what they were saying.

Thank you for your post! I agree that is could be a defect, as our DNA can be very unpredictable, but this answer just doesn't do it for me. Its too vague.. but then again, exactly what I expected for the most part.

I've never seen anything *quite* like this before. I'd also assume that there are many people out there who've never seen it either.

I guess in depth answers would be hard to come by..

Thank you again.

If I knew what the name of the defect was, I could research it, but since the video isn't English, I can't help you at the moment. Keep in mind, when it comes to deformities there are ones where kids are born with their internal organs on the outside fo their bodies, or with extra limbs. So this doesn't look that far out to me.

IT MAYBE ONE OF THESE TWO CONDITIONS .

Anencephaly

Anencephaly is a cephalic disorder that results from a neural tube defect that occurs when the cephalic (head) end of the neural tube fails to close, usually between the 23rd and 26th day of pregnancy, resulting in the absence of a major portion of the brain, skull, and scalp. Infants with this disorder are born without a forebrain, the largest part of the brain consisting mainly of the cerebral hemispheres (which include the isocortex, which is responsible for higher level cognition, i.e., thinking). The remaining brain tissue is often exposed - not covered by bone or skin.

Harlequin type ichthyosis

Harlequin-type ichthyosis (also harlequin ichthyosis, ichthyosis congenita, or keratosis diffusa fetalis), a skin disease, is the most severe form of congenital ichthyosis, characterized by a thickening of the keratin layer in fetal human skin. In sufferers of the disease, the skin contains massive, diamond-shaped scales, and tends to give off a reddish color. In addition, the eyes, ears, mouth, and other appendages may be abnormally contracted. The scaly keratin greatly limits the child's movement. Because the skin is cracked where normal skin would fold, it is easily pregnable by bacteria and other contaminants, resulting in serious risk of fatal infection.

Sufferers are known as harlequin fetuses, harlequin babies, or harlequins.

The harlequin-type designation comes from both the baby's apparent facial expression and the diamond-shape of the scales (resembling the costume of Arlecchino), which are caused by severe hyperkeratosis. The disease can be diagnosed in the uterus by way of fetal skin biopsy or by morphologic analysis of amniotic fluid cells obtained by amniocentesis. In addition, doctors can now usually recognize common features of the disease through ultrasound, and follow up with 3D ultrasound can diagnose the condition

I suspect what the poster above has stated, it looks like some sort of acute harlequin syndrome.

I have also seen what newborns look like when their mother is a heroin addict or coc aine addict or crack addict, it does horrendous things to the child.

ITSTHECIA,

Thank you!! I had no idea how to even begin finding out what this was, but I think you got it -- from a medical standpoint.

It looks to me more like an acute case of anencephalie. Especially this image.

Thank you again VERY MUCH for shedding some light on this topic for me!

Hi Retikx,

Thank you for your post! I've seen some pretty terrible things happen to children who's mothers were addicted to a drug during pregnancy too. I have just never seen anything this extreme... and can't even begin to imagine what the families go through when they give birth to child with such a condition. It must be devistating for everyone involved... =(

I really appreciate you offering your ideas on what could cause this.

Thank you!

I would like to add a scientific note. The human body has so many great aspects to allow it to procreate properly. One of the keys to fertilization of a HUMAN egg is the sperm receptors on the the outside of the membrane. These sperm receptors are specific for HUMAN sperm. Thus you can't get inter-species breeding.

Yep, Both Pics are of Anencephalic babies, The Bulging eyes and mishapen heads are a common factor. Some do come close to looking normal but if you ever see any pics of them you will see a lot of them wearing little hats to cover up the rear of the head which is usually malformed or not formed at all. The saddest thing is that this defect is due to a simple lack of Folic Acid in the mother's diet - hence the recommendation made now to all women thinking of having a baby is to start taking Folic Acid daily before pregnancy - This is easily achievable with the right diet and does'nt always require supplements.

I think it's head looks like a baby seals head, not a monkey. Strange anyways, if it survives it will never live any kind of a life.
