I dont buy the suset reflection story, the color would not be so solid if it were relying on a reflection to maintain brightness.

If I had a guess, it was a high altitude spy plane, that met it demise early after takeoff, and had a lot of fuel to burn on the way down.

Heres one that happened near my neck of the woods. According to the FAA, although a rare occurrence, this usually happens just before or during sunset.

their is a difference between the videos though.

you see how close that jet is and the fireball over polk is of bigger size from greater distance and much slower. You can tell this is a jet though.

Yes could be a very high flying spy plane that went wrong or a rocket from who knows??? The FAA certainly has not come forward with any explanation as of yet nor NASA or the military. In the end it is a UFO.

I agree with Steve Nipper - it's an ordinary contrail. When they are near the horizon, they can look as if they are moving straight down. It's just a perceptual illusion.

Hello sarentack.

The reason it look's like it is falling is due to the curveture of the earth.

It's not falling it's following the curveture of the earth.

Take care.

Regards
Lee

i noticed that too, the second video must be when the object was at a lower altitude, which depending on the magnification of his lense, could rule out con trails since they really only show up thick in higher alttitudes where it is colder, then again it is winter.

Amazing, I have never ever seen a two minute sunset. Could the color be off in the video? I didn't see any wings, is this a new type of airplane that is wingless?

But, if they say contrails I'll avoid the straight jacket by saying "okay".

I don't belive this is a meteor or asteroid... Ive seen them MANY times in my lifetime, and only colors of 'shootin stars' i ever seen, were blue, green, white, yellow. NEVER red or orange.

Keep looking. You will see them sooner or later. I assure you they do exist

Can we let this thread die now please? Not that I have anything against flogging dead horses...

The following website has a listing of reported fireball sightings for 2008. They also have a clear photo of a fireball.

I agree with you. I've seen the sun reflecting on a planes trail...it doesn't look like that! IMy guess, either a UAV or one of those spy satellite (spy eye) burnt out. I see fireballs out here several times a week. Not that large, but it burns out pretty quick.

So? What does this have to do with anything?

I think we have new video of the same object doing some crazy moves: www.abovetopsecret.com...

The thing I find incredible is that the scientist in the video claim it is flying at super high altitudes, however, it seems to come down on the horizon closer to the Earth. While it is a UFO, this is one that certainly looks man-made.
It's flight pattern suggest that it is being tested or is completely out of control.

Are the contrails hot? Or are they reflecting sunlight?

That would be "reflecting sunlight". These trails are always spotted when the sun is low in the sky, thus reflecting the reddish sunet/sunrise.

Also, flying beyond the horizon does not mean it's flying to a lower altitude. The atmosphere curves around the earth and goes over the horizon just like the ocean does. A plane flying away from the observer at 30,000 feet or so can stay level but still appear to move "down" to the horizon.
