I was wondering if anyone has any theories on why there is an ever increasing amount of laws and restrictions put out on guns. I'm not talking about any particular type of gun, just guns in general.

People, mainly libs, are saying that militias are what the second amendment gauranteed, not the individual right to own guns.

The reason I bring this up, is because I moved to IL from NC. Needless to say, IL is very liberal, at least where I'm at. Plus, you have to be registered and have a FOID (firearm owners ID) card on you at all times you have a gun. Plus, if carrying a firearm, the gun and magazine must be saparate.

I'm sorry, I'm just so frustrated. Probably because they're pushing for the right for gays to get married, but trying to illegalize my guns. (Is illegalize a word?)

You cant blame the government its just a lot easier to enslave an unarmed population

And that is ALL gun control is about

yeah, it seems, that way. I just never understood how restricting guns on people who buy them the legal way will stop criminals from getting them.

well, hey, im no gun nut, but last i heard it went like this "A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed. " that translates as - the militia is a good thing, so everyone can own a gun (thats what a militia is) i dont think the militia has been used since the rail riots in 1873, but i may be wrong.
it seems to me that it pretty blatantly guarantees everyone (not minors) the right to own a gun. restricted people (non criminals) from owning a gun is simply an infrigement of constitutional rights

It wont and any one with two brain cells can see it. It has NOTHING to do with OUR safety just theres. Even Thomas Jefferson openly stated that the 2nd admendment was as much to protect us from our own government as another.

Its funny how so many of the people that say the NWO is controling us want us to give them our guns makes a lot of sense dont it.

in recent years the militia hasnt been really used cuz we dun need it, weve got the military.
the problem jsut arises when u think about the actual militia. yeah, its to protect ourselves from our government, go jefferson, but, man, there aint no gun i can buy thats gonna do # against an M-16 and a flak jacket. #.
that whole divide thing, uno? theyve got a trillion bux to spend on guns, ive got a few thousand, if i wanna go overboard.

"A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed. "

Most people use the excuse that the National Gaurd is that state's militia. But doesn't it also say there the word "people"? That means.... 'people' doesn't it?

But then theres alway someone who says, "Back in that day, 'people' was a white male, and thats outdated, so clearly the idea of everyone having a gun is too"
Yeah, well then I say Freedom of Speech is outdated, so exercise your right to shut the hell up.

Thanks Amorymeltzer for the quote.

I am as well armed as any foot soldier without the heavey weapons and They are people out there with them.

If it come down to civil war enough of the army would balk at killing there own people to make it interesting

I've always been interested in gunsmithing, and some colleges still teach it. The only problem is that it IS illegal.

*not gunsmithing, turning to automatics.
sorry about that.

You mean one of the guns you mentioned?

Oh yeah, did you here about that guy in illinois who defended his house against an attempted robbery (I think he used a handgun), then the homeowner's assoc. tried to mess with him?

Yeah Buy the gun and the book, you probibly have the tools already, just keep them both till a time that they are needed then convert it to R&R

I would rather have the homeowners mess with me than end up in a puddle of blood in my own home
