I wonder just how the poers that be will prevent the internet when they desire to completely shut it down? Sever all T1 lines? send out a massive e-bomb, a series of "EMP" accidents blamed on UFOs?

yep. quite right...
but the internet is the topic of the day. and a madhouse cannot be thought anything. but a common element in some movies, that the "mad" turns out to be much more reasonable than anyother. and there are the keepers of the madhouse. masons, illuminati, whatsoever. so some mad people created the internet. an some to the keepers like thought that it would be exactly that: a madhouse of insults (see the first chatrooms). and there was the shift in this movie and the potential of the internet went unnoticed.

until that site with the free music download appeared and the record companies went crazy. they tried to regulate after they managed to shut it down. we all know what the response of our creation was. hundreds of sites came pupping up within days of shutdown of one.

it works exactly like: you hit me with a stone, i hit you with 11 000 termonuclear bombs. so imagine what will happen if they "cut" the internet. it will be something different but also powerful, and it will leave the internet as a bug in the realm of planets.

it happens as it should be happening to all. but if we have a war love will follow but shortly'll die of, it shouldn't. i believe that some day we'll see the internet "infect" our life in the common reality to. and they know this. they are afraid, and they know they cant stop it, unless kill every free mind but a few.

so, examineenimaxe! we are not exactly a madhouse afterall.

The funniest/saddest thing about that is that they think we're too stupid to ask questions if something happened to our internet. Sad thing is, they're mostly right. I figure a decent amount of people would believe whatever excuse they would have. And that is just really tragic.

This type of story pops up every few months, so you know that it means something important to the powers that be.

To get something passed, like more controls on the internet, people with a vested interest in those kind things, will see to it that there is no end to news stories and legislation that's put before us.

Keep the internet free. The internet keeps us free! The internet is magick.

The government is scared of things they don't know or can't control. Especially now a days with their Alien Slave Masters working there tiny brains with the precision of a laser scalpel. Of course they want to stop it, to many people are being informed at an alarming rate of their super illegal activites. The Internet makes all the lies they spew out of the white house so transparent. America is doomed, just as Rome was so long ago. Whoever said this was the land of the free, must not live here today. Sometimes I think the government is devolving into a bunch of lunatic crazed crackheads, that are afraid someone might fart and they won't get to smell it.

To Gov't Official's:
If your reading this, then get the hell out of peoples lives. Your entire agency was created to keep the population stable and the economy good. It can also be taken away from you to. Keep pushing people in the wrong way and you will see a fierce animal that feels trapped in a corner. You know what happens when you trap an animal in a corner don't you? Free Market has worked fine by itself for ages. Why suddenly now do you want to go and throw it all in the trash? Oh wait you won't answer that because you can't think of a good lie to tell us.

They just want to change the internet to a super highway of disinformation. People are not into television like they used to be. I doubt they counted on the popularity of the net!

they cannot change the internet, this involves the changing the essence of it. they must centralize the information witch is impossible, the net not works thatway.

Here are some points I think we all should ponder;
IF our, or any government, or corporate body, is so afraid of the PEOPLE knowing what they are doing, or up to, that they create secret hearings, write referendums and policies that inturn, put the people at large, under strict confines and can impose fines, punishments and detention, for not agreeing with what they are doing, then THEY, are our enemy!
When any enity uses lies, deciet, propaganda, misinformation, and otherwise withholds vital information that directly affects us, the people, THEY are our enemy!
When any organization intentionally writes policies that cannot be clearly understood by the commonly educated people, then THEY are our enemy!
When anyone, group, or organization, hires ARMED security, mercenaries, private armies,or advisors, investigators, bodyguard thugs, that are a direct threat to the safety and well being to the people at large, THEY are our enemy!
Any form or document that is ment to capture and reveal sensitive information about your privacy, history, credit, affilliations, education, religion, friends, and it is used against you by employers, insurance companies, doctors, courts, then THEY that practice this form of extreme prejudice are our enemy!
When you no longer have the right to be left alone in the public spaces, without being surveiled, videoed, photographed, tracked, identified, recorded, without your consent, thenTHEY that do it are our enemy!
When there is nothing that you can do, that isn't regulated, licensed, taxed,
or has an access fee charged, then THEY that stiffle your freedom, are our enemy!
When any elected official, that is paid by public taxes, and cannot be recalled, impeached, and declares themselves to be above and beyond the law of the people, then THEY are our enemy!
When any government acts as or tells you that they OWN you, and restricts you in any way, then THEY are our enemy!
When any government agency restricts or terminates your right to defend yourself, your family, and property, and then uses your defenselessness against you with armed force tactics, then THEY are our enemy!
Finally, when anyone who represents corporate, government, or private concerns tells you what you can read, say, look at, or think, then it is time to REVOLT, and ELIMINATE all of our enemies.

It looks like that time, is now at hand!

Because all of the things listed above are happening right now.

Great post

It seems the BBC are now reporting on this development and the danger to freedom of the internet by regarding its users as potential combatants:

www.informationclearinghouse.info...

The Information Operations Roadmap (IOR) recommends that psychological operations (Psyops) “should consider a range of technologies to disseminate propaganda in enemy territory: unmanned aerial vehicles, "miniaturized, scatterable public address systems", wireless devices, cellular phones and the internet.” No idea is too costly or too far-fetched that it escapes the serious consideration of the Pentagon chieftains.

The War Dept. is planning to insert itself into every area of the internet from blogs to chat rooms, from leftist web sites to editorial commentary. The objective is to challenge any tidbit of information that appears on the web that may counter the official narrative; the fairytale of benign American intervention to promote democracy and human rights across the planet.

As the BBC comments:

The Pentagon’s plans for engaging in “virtual warfare” are impressive. As BBC notes: “The operations described in the document include a surprising range of military activities: public affairs officers who brief journalists, psychological operations troops who try to manipulate the thoughts and beliefs of an enemy, computer network attack specialists who seek to destroy enemy networks.” (BBC)

Sounds to me like your blowing the comments made out of proportion.

The internet since it IS global in nature it does hold the chance of being used as a weapon against the United States.
Sort of like the reasons you use a firewall?

Well all this does is prove what I have been saying all along, that the US has tirned into a full blown Fascist state. Perhaps now the nay sayers and doubters will finally realise that I was right all along. And for all thsoe who say where is your proof here it is, this and many actions that have taken place in the US over the past decade prove my facts.

I would hesitate to accept this is a U.S. phenomenon. Unfortunately, this potential problem transcends national boundaries, and it's important note that the 'establishment' has been working for years on an 'improved' Internet, to which, so far, only they have access.

Before we panic, maybe we should take a look at the timestamps?

Props to Karl for actually doing a search and turning up an old thread to add to instead of just starting a new one, but it's too bad it was in Breaking Alternative News, since the news is from 2006 and the thread is a year old too

Still, an interesting document and I'm glad to have the opportunity to chek it out

If the government wanted to, it could shut the entire Internet down.

I don't believe they can anymore.

I worked for many years building power plants and in the last 10 years all the plants were connected to the Internet.

All the big wind turbine across the US are connected and run by the Internet.
all if the big solar power plants are run by way of the Internet.

The whole power grid is connected and run by way of the Internet.

Many cities have hooked there water systems to the Internet.

How would you turn off the Internet without turning the US off.
what i worry about is a Internet 2.0 and them moving all the critical Internet to it.

Then they could turn off the internet 1.0

the US needs a Internet police system not to go after people in the US but to go after the criminals working from outside the US
make these internet cops like the CIA and only allow them to operated out side the US.

Well its easy to shut it down seeing as most of it goes via satelites and who owns them. It may not be completely down but it wont be much use will it.
