But seriously, it's been said that to know Afghanistan, you must understand Pakistan. Pak is a mess, so there you go.

Anyway, don't just listening to 3 think tanks with an agenda. Maybe a good idea would be to read what people who are there are saying.

Or, some Master's Theses might provide some insight too.

Yup, its a bit screwed up there. NATO was never designed to stop an insurgency or act as local police.
