I don't understand why one would believe the earth to be hollow. Is there any evidence of this? Please let me know, because I am curious about this theory.

Some state, that due to the centrifugal force of a planets rotation, its a natural phenomenon for the core to eject out of planets. Some planetary 'physicists' state that the eject points are usually at the 19th degree of every planet, many planets have some formation in these areas (artificial looking or not), jupiters red spot, mars face, etc...

Thx

Well aside from obvious fictional works that doesnt exactly help against the theory, there are lots of stories on caves and even people coming out of them... But of course if you want to find hard evidence for it you will find none. Hollow Earth is like ufology (especially to those arguing aliens living there, heh).

Maybe some clues there :

Hollow Earth : The NASA Proof

To answer more theorically to your question, the origin is more mythical/traditional than scientific. But now as we're a technologically advanced civilisation, we can imagine that some day we'll be able to engineer huge space ships conceived for travelling far, far away... And if one think enough about it, how can one dismiss that the best shape would be that of a SPHERE, and that the best travel would be a virtually static one, around a star for exemple...

Get it ?...

I had just finished reading 'The Hollow Earth' by Raymond Bernard. An interesting theory with some good questions. Though I am not sure how much of this I believe.

In this book there were several reports of arctic explorers who have reported seeing fox, butterfly, and even mosquitos north of the 80th parallel, where there is supposedly no life to be found. These animals along with polar bears can be observed traveling to the north.

Also there were reports of people who had traveled to the north and came upon a land of warm temperatures, constant sunshine, and lush vegetation.

There are also many other legends, stories, and myths of subterranean worlds and cities from all around the world.

I see. But dang, I thought there might have actually been some real facts behind this theory, since there are people who support it. Is there no evidence at all that even hints at a hollow inside?

Wasn't Hitler a believer in hollow earth theory? I seem to remember reading somewhere about him having expeditions to the arctic in an attempt to find the entrance to the hollow earth.

(Due to the increase in antisemitic posts on these boards, and the fact that I usually do not post on this particular board, I will point out in advance that I in no way shape or form support Nazism or Antisemitic beliefs/ideologies and this is a historical question)

Kevin and matthew taylor i think? They are Australian authors, book has not been to America Yet. Originally published late '90s early 00's? Based on it's description on amazon.com, it should raise a red flag, and begs the question of whether or no the book will ever make it to America.

called "the land of no horizon"

The Authors did a good C2C interview

True. The Thule Society/Thule Geselshaft was all about supposed aryan giants hidden inward the Earth's crust, as Thule was supposedly their main city located beyond the upmost north.

But the myth is reported since antiquity, by Pytheas in first.

I've checked out their website(s) when I did a google search for "hollow earth", and it doesn't seem like they are very legit. They have like at least four different websites of the same thing, and are trying to sell their book. But if anyone's read it, let me know if it's legit!
