Im wondering if anyone knows of any good books pertaining to the Amish way of life, i dont mean the religious aspects or the teachings i am purely
interested in the survival/farming/livestock/tools/food prep and preserve. As a boy i lived very near a large Amish community and it always
fascinated me how big and strong the men and women were. They are an amazingly ingenious group of people and i think many survivalists/permaculturist
would benefit greatly from there techniques.
Not necessarily Amish, but the Foxfire series is a very good resource for all of those things. It goes into great detail about just about everything
related to the way America was in 1890 up to 1980, since people are still living like that. I think if I remember right there are 13 books in all,
each being about 300 to 450 pages long.
