Just a few small comments.
The president does have legislative powers by means of executive orders. Law with the stroke of a pen.
The Federal government exists to protect our rights, not to grant them. Our rights are given by birth, not by the government. Thus this little gem of
wisdom,
"We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights,
that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness."
Local governments are always more responsive to the desires and needs of its people than a distant body, unwilling or uncaring of the desires of its
citizens. For example, the people in Utah would be better served by local politicians deciding, with the input of the local citizens, what is best for
Utah. Not some Ivory tower career politician in Washington DC deciding what is best for Utah with the help of lobbyists.
And finally, Ron Paul is non-interventionist, not an Isolationist.
