Both History and Sci Fi channel are planing to air 2 shows with the same name (UFO Hunters) at the same day and time.

I am not sure this is a common practice, I am sure though its going to be interesting mainly because its about our favorite subject.

It's probably because of the recent sightings in TX.

CNN has already done thier thing and now these two networks want to cash in on ratings.

This has been in the works for a while. I first saw commercials for the History Channel one back in December or so, although it could be longer. This also would mean that it was being discussed before that, so unless the sighting in Texas was some kind of publicity stunt then I don't think these shows are trying to cash in on the Texas sighting.

you are right...i saw the 2 hour program on the history channel friday 1/25/08 from 3 to 5 P.S.T. on comcast cable, there was some updated material that i have not seen before. they had alot more info as far as official government documents and on 1 segment they had in depth (to me) disclosures by retired naval personnal on the various and numerous encounters since WW2. one of the first nuclear aircraft carriers... the roosevelt...had many observed encounters. not only did they come out and say that whole crews had witnessed uso's, but implied that there were many more not yet made public.

something is up...too much government released information is coming out for it not to be true. there was serious and credible evidence being shown that suggests that the government is slowly trying to get the public use to the idea of alien life being present on the earth

Concerning the History Channel and Sci-Fi Channel,

Have you seen their excellent UFO Files (and the various subjects they cover? there are over a dozen or so which have aired from the late nineties up to about 2005-06). I especially liked an Alien History of Planet Earth, and How to Back Engineer a UFO, and the Washington D.C. Incident, and Deep Sea UFOs, and the Sci-Fi channel documentary Into the Blue (or Out of the Blue). I am not positive about the exact titles, but of similar names. And the Decoding the Past shows.

I find that these shows are interesting because of what they cover and release via mainstream tv.

i have seen a couple of those programs... but if you see this newest one from what i described in my post above, it definitely takes a more serious approach to ufo's and uso's. i am a skeptic myself, but this appears to be the real thing and even still i'm not 100% convinced, i'm getting pretty damn close. and let me tell you, i'm getting excited by this and at my age and cynical outlook that's a rare occurance for me

I have become a semi-cynic, but after all my experience with these subjects, I am more surely convinced there is something wrong with this world and there are indeed strange events happening.

I think I have seen the show you are mentioning, its about USO's, and I saw it listed on my viewing guide the other day, the Hist Chan regularly repeats their UFO Files (their inclusive moniker), and this particular show detailed the story about the aircraft carrier incident witnessed by some Navy men, among other Sea related sightings.

As far as I know, the new show UFO Hunters as advertised on the Hist Chan comes out in Feb, I wrote it down in my list of shows to later record, as I like to stay informed on what is being released via mainstream tv.

UFO Files is a really great show. Ghost Hunters is not, so I'm hoping it will be more like the former.
