Do Younger Men REALLY Love Older Women?

For most of my life I dated men my age or older, mostly older, up to 20 years more than me. My husband is 10 years younger and that really bothered me at first. I wouldn't take him seriously in the beginning; I was sure he'd eventually find a younger woman and leave. But it turns out he's always been attracted to older women and the difference in age was a plus for him. Surprisingly, I found him much more mature, wise and thoughtful than most other men I've ever dated, regardless of their age.His family has accepted me completely. The only thing that bothers me is when people ask if I'm his mother. That doesn't happen too often but he does look young for his age.

I've found happiness and a life partner who's a younger man. I would never have predicted it for me.

I know that I have always been attracted to women who are older than myself. It is said that women go through a period of introspection and transition in their early to mid 30s. I have witnessed women do this, so there must be a bit of truth to it. I think this may be a natural stage of maturing for some and I like the result.

Now that I am in my late 30s, I could see myself attracted to women who are older or who are my same age.

I can also say this - I have never subscribed to the notions of beauty that are forced upon us by the media.

Instead I see a stretch mark as a badge of courage - a battle scar. A grey hair is one more harrowing adventure survived. A wrinkle stands for wisdom.

Too skinny of a woman feels like a bag of bones and isn't good for snuggling with, so I want a woman who has not maintained her highschool figure but has grown the full Rubenesque curves featured in countless works of art and statues of Venus.

I want a woman who's old enough to know better, but lively enough to do it anyway.

I want a woman who has outgrown caring what others think of her.

It's just hard to find all that in a 20-something.

PS - I did find her over a decade ago and we are happily married. There is 14 years difference in our ages.

Yes. We younger men are attracted to older women to a degree. But not because of anything special. It's because older women are pigs. Once women hit 30, they start thinking about how they use to look, and they get insecure. So this and their out of wack hormones, brings out the best or worst in them. They lower their standard too. Because they know they're not as beautiful as they once were, and now have to settle for what they can get.

Personally, I love older women.

They just seem to have more to offer. More knowledge, more life experience and someone a man can learn from.

It's so funny when people say it's the experience. You ask a 15 year boy about his 18 year old girlfriend and he will say the same thing. Well, sorry to say buddy but your girlfriend at the age of eighteen is not experienced.

I'm not for older women, but for women in mid forties therefore they are older than me by a few years. The handle communications in in a completely different way and some guys like that. Some like a giggly girl and some like a happy but serious person.

The problem with all girls/women is that they subconsciously yearn for a father figure in their life. They may love and marry a smart man that is younger but they will not have any true respect for the person. Yes it is possible to love and still not respect the person. They just don't see a younger man a superior and no matter what they say, subconsciously they are looking for a man superior to them.

There is something about a older woman who has looked after herself, mature, who has confidence and is full of that real "woman" feel. Older women can be more sexy, while younger more cute??

Hard to explain except, elegance maybe?

In the end I love all women all shapes and sizes all ages, if she's pretty and got that something special (personality) to attract me.

It's not that I NEED a relationship with someone older, I guess for me it would be quite exciting. I'd do anything, well within reason.

I have quite an amusing story about a friend of mine who got taken to a woman's house after meeting her on a night out. The next morning, he woke up to find her two son's were his age (19 at that time)!

My husband to be is five years younger. My first time dating a younger man, and feel this is the best relationship I've ever had. He exhibits more mature actions and more, more than the men I have dated that were up to 10 years older than me. Not to say all men are like that, but I figure it's because of his maturity level he looked for someone older, closer to how he is mentally. So that's probably part of the reason why men seek out older women, other than as the quote goes "older women are more experienced", as they are seeking that.

Ok, I'm 25 and my wife is 35...wer got married a couple of weeks ago.

For 2-3 years I had my friends telling me it was so weird to have an older girlfriend. I kept my mouth shut about them having high school gf and they were my age...

I think the type of man that likes older women is a weaker, passive type of fellow who has mother issues and prefers to be controlled over being in charge. Personally, I find most women to be no good for anything besides sex. They are bossy, self-obsessed, mean, argumentative and obsessed with marriage and/or childbirth. Usually, the younger they are, the more likely it is that these negative traits haven't become a part of their personalities yet. And if you're significantly older than they are, they tend to show you respect and heed your wishes.

Also, older women are less attractive than their younger counterparts. A lot of them are overweight, too. Perhaps this also explains why some guys like them. If one has low self-esteem, it's easier to feel comfortable with someone who is less attractive than yourself.

The only drawbacks to the young girls are that they're idiots and you can't hold a conversation with them, but who really wants to talk to a female anyway? At least the young ones, you tell them to shut up and they obey.

Geez, don't jump down my throat. I was just explaining why I think you're a lot more likely to see men involved with women who are younger than them. I'm just relying on my personal feelings and experiences.

OK maybe I overreacted, for some reason I read you post as if you are talking about ALL women, I just found it a bit too much, maybe too much generalising?? You basically say all these bad things about women as if it applies to all women, you say most thou.
Have you had bad experiences with women? Do you think this has affected the way you think about women?

Thank you so much for being a real gentleman. Some of the “men” on this site are rude, crude, and thoroughly unattractive. I would normally ignore these , but I just couldn’t control myself. Now I feel much better.
