I think we should try to get government officials from UK USA etc to come and do live chats with the website... Obviously members involved in the live chat would have to be selected to as to ensure no abuse and prepared questions, and mature debating...
I think it would benefit the board greatly

edit: What do you think? I think we should appoint a committe to start asking for interviews personally

it appears that you can't.

I dont see why?
I think it would work well, I mean understandably there are questions which they couldnt answer, so they would just need to say 'pass'....

Maybe we could get Kissinger on ?
Now that I would love to see !

If the mods/admins like the idea then I'd like to see/head up a committee to get government officals to come on to ATS for live interviews...
We'd also need a selection committe for people who ask the questions, so that we stay mature and sensible...

I had this idea the outher day in chat why do you get art bell to come on live chat or a person who knows best about each topic on ATS .This could be the next step for ats all though it could have its bad points and could cause a ruck.:bash: All they have to do is send an email I think it would be kinda good

I think, for us to get any kind of consideration at all, we would have to write a formal letter.
If the mods/admins want to do this, I propose we start off high in the system, because then they can always delegate it.
I would be interested to see what some of them have to say about some of our questions, just as long as we make sure we dont start abusing or insulting.

browha,
This is just my honest opinion, but I think that it is a grand and ambitious idea, but one that will not likely happen, no matter the amount of support that is generated on this site for such an endeavor.

What "type" of government officials is the foremost question. The agenda of questions would be next.

Just from a government political figure and looking at this site and its cintent discussions, the site will be viewed as, to any type high government official, as a site that will be looking to open a "can of worms" so that the "conspiracy" agenda can be furthered.

This is all my subjective speculative opinion. I think you (ie: ATS) would be hard pressed to get a UK/US government official to accept such a proposition as accepting an interview.

'Government' on this site is already generally disliked and not trusted....in such, how many would actually alter or rethink their positions on certain issues 'if' and 'when' a UK/US government official commented in a manner that did not fit the majority of the mainstream views, opinions, and beliefs here at ATS?

seekerof

I kind of agree with Seekerof on this, but there is a next best solution. We could have a thread to come up with a bunch of questions that we'd like to ask politicians, then we could use these questions to do interviews with local politicians in members areas. We could then post these interviews on the board.
I just thought I'd throw that in there, I know I'd probably have no troubles getting interviews with local MP's over here.

Cool....
I think we could get David Shayler, that would be interesting...
Seekerof - I think any type of offical would be fine, well any person in a prominent position in any field... Just people outside the 'conspiracy' circle...

Unfortunately, unless it was someone willing to speak out, we'd get this....

ATS: So, what really happened at Roswell?
GOVT: A Mogul crash, just as reported in the AF briefing on the matter.
ATS: Ok.....so what about Area 51?
GOVT: What's Area 51?
ATS: You know, the base that isn't supposed to exist...
GOVT: It doesn't exist....
ATS: So what about the satellite photos?
GOVT: I'm sure there's some government installation there, but I have no knowledge of it...
ATS: Great...ok then, why is the government covering up the existence of extra-terrestrial life?
GOVT: I'm aware of no such thing..where do you guys get this stuff?

See?

lol I dont mean things like that....
I mean things like discussing the education system, Freemasonary, Army projects... government policies, etc

edit: Or we could use the Scholars and produce like projects with some good proof/backing and present that or something...

Although anonymity is highly valued by some here on ATS, it would be interesting for those ATS members who are gov't types (not necessarily gov't officials) to be interviewed or express opinions under the acknowledgement that they are speaking from a gov't employee perspective.

Now THAT is a great idea.

Let's do it!
but I think for us to get any real 'publicity' or 'credibility' we need to go outside conspiracy circles

So we could interview seekerof, springer, intelgurl, bios, and all those gov't spies watching this web site that were identified in the following ATS thread:

Do you believe the CIA/NSA are among us on ATS???
