WOW good one. Mine was when i was about 7 years old or 9. I was getting out of the shower and wiping my face over with my towel. Then when i took my towel from my face i looked in the mirror right in front of me. My grandpa was looking back at me and he smiled and waved at me. I flipped a switch Screamed so loud i could have blown out a vocal cord. The house was super small 3 bedroom i dont even think 1,000 Square feet. Then after i stopped screaming i opened the door. Took about five steps from the bathroom into the kitchen. My mother and sister were there. i said you guys didnt hear me scream they said no what happened. I said i Saw Art in the mirror my mom said he must have wanted to see you. I was like wow they were right outside nothing loud besides me screaming and they didnt hear a thing. Right now im trying to open my third eye and astral project. I still look into the mirror everytime to maybe ask him question as i think next time ill be ready.

Very good Monsterenergy, you are on your way. The main thing is to keep an open mind! Pay attention to those occurences around you. First i heard, then felt, like a cold breath on your neck, then after a remark to agod, I started to see. Remember the things that brought you joy, especially as a child and do those thinks today. Let go of hate and negative energy (I'm still working on that one). Become one within yourself.

I hope you guys don't mind if I share my experience. It is only one of two I've ever witnessed. I really do not believe in ghosts as to what they are believed to be but I know what I saw. Here is a portion of the story taken from another thread I replied to. This happened when I was a small child and we had just moved into our new home:

"...I don't believe in ghosts and all that hocus pocus today but I know what I saw. I had no idea what a decomposed body looked like at the time but saw a woman in my bedroom who I called "The Lady with the Green Skin." I didn't know how else to describe her at my age but that she had greenish-grayish skin and exposed teeth and bones. Of course today I know it would be described as decomposition. I only saw her three times and it was only in my bedroom. Needles to say, I spent many nights sleeping between my parents in their bed thanks to what we still refer to today as "The Lady with the Green Skin" whenever we talk about it.

When I was older, my parents finally admitted that the entire reason we got the house in the first place was because the previous owner, a lady, was found dead in our house (and what was by this time my bedroom which is where I saw her). She was found by the next door neighbor in a decomposed state and covered by flies. Thanks Mom and Dad!..."

As for people like Andre, they just don't know. They haven't seen it so they don't believe it. Heck, I've seen it and I still have a difficult time with it. But like I always say: You cannot tell a person who has seen an angel they do not exist simply because you haven't seen one. You cannot tell a person who has seen a ghost they do not exist because you have not seen one. You cannot tell a person who has seen a UFO they do not exist because you have not seen one.

Almost 20 years later, I'm still trying to come to terms with what I saw as a child.

There is no judgement.

That would really make me feel better about something in particular.

I had a childhood friend who hung himself a couple years ago. We weren't friends since childhood and he went far far down the bad path. I have been really sad for his soul because of all the conjecture that spirits who commit suicide go straight to the darkness (which makes sense to me).

I have also heard many accounts of people trying to kill themself and being saved, but who's to know where they would go if they actually did it? I hope he's ok...

It sounds like you know a lot about the subject of ghosts/spirits.

I have a question, some ghosts can and try to communicate with people and even show an apparition of themselves, but why is it so rare to see an apparition and hear them speak?
Is the energy required really hard to gather or something in order to show themselves in our dimension?

No One knows for sure 100% people have experiences and experience leads to theory. I'm going to bolt out a couple theory's. First when a spirit or apparition manifest themselves. They need energy the theory goes on about them drawing energy from batteries, Air, and electromagnetic field in earths atmosphere. So battery's drain air gets cold or the electromagnetic field is of minus or positive charge in only a very small area and spike rapid or suddenly. these are all theory's but it something to think about and research for yourself you can go to meetup website and participate in ghost hunts in your area with other people.

I've had a good amount of experience with poltergeist at my friends ranch, built on an indian burial ground (not kidding.) The place was out of control. I've also experienced ghosts in other houses including my own, who's former residents were a nice elderly couple that passed on after moving out. My little sister had her bedroom door swing open and slam over and over one night, and my family got mysteriously ill and bed-ridden. I was just a kid at the time, but I believe my father and my uncle thought that it had to do with the spirits of the former residents, so they did a burning of sweet grass and prayer. The haunting stopped and we immediately got better.

These sort of things lead me to study alot on ghosts, and I've finally reached a definite conclusion to my ideas. They are real, they are conscious entities or energy existing in dimensions close to our own, but I have no way of 'knowing' this or proving it

This leads to your question, 'seeing' a ghost is definitely rare! In all my experience, I have never 'seen' a ghost, only heard them, felt them (intensely) etc. I believe apparitions are when a spirit connects momentarily with our dimension. This would require an extremely low vibration (for a spirit) to materialize in our physical realm. This might be related to AshleyD's experience of seeing a decaying woman... this spirit was intensely connected to it's physical body and could have been projecting itself as a decaying body because of this attatchment.

So a visible ghost is one in extremely low vibration. This could go along with the idea of cold spots etc, where a spirit is sucking the electric charge out of the surrounding atmosphere in a room: but I don't know if this is the process of gaining energy, or actually lowering energy. In any case, I think ghosts that materialize are tightly connected to the lower realm either through traumatic death or very special environments that can record their past life.

So much conjecture! But science has only proven one thing: ghosts affect electromagnetic fields, and EM fields are all over the universe, and actually constitute our physical reality. There is definitely something valid to the ghost phenomena.

I had been wanting your opinion of that. Never have I heard of a 'ghost' appearing in a decomposed state. It doesn't make a whole lot of sense when you think about ti. You would think they'd look like they did at the time of death or in their youth... not what happens to their body after one dies.

As far as I know, most ghosts simply "disintegrate", because many are just husks without spirits, lingering like an astral parasite or even just a weird "recording" of a person (though these don't interact with people), the problem really is that people mix up all different kinds of apparitions and manifestations under the same name, there are those that walk about, everyday repeating the same actions without any interruption (recordings), there are those that dwells i a place, but is usually devoid of will or intellect (though it can speak because it carries a little of what it used to be), almost like a weird animal that talks or something (parasites), some of these are just another of our bodies that we leave behind, others are more like obsessions taking form, there are probably even more types mixed with the ghost concept...

And there are of course those that are not really ghosts, but spirits using the form of a person, these don't even need to have been human once, some fuel on hatred and stuff (some help though), but I'm not sure how that works so I stop there, I believe they may even "posses" a ghost (or use its image) to its own goals. Spirits of dead humans can linger if they don't accept their deaths, these are usually more "powerful" I believe, and being more "complete" beings they can answer better without recurring its former knowledge or living minds, more akin to possessing demons than simply haunting ghosts, but they may linger for their own purposes, in this case though it rarely helps "guiding them to light" because they have their own purpose in being here and not going wherever they go...

But... well whatever, that's just me

by the way I equate ghosts=dead astral husk left behind (not necessarily the soul or even the common astral body)
and spirits="the being", demons, angels, guides, etc...
its not a precise thing, but it works XD

That's a pretty interesting way of looking at things. I always wondered why they all look different. I have seen some that look like your everyday person, some look like "shadow people", some look like "shadowy blobs". That puts a different perspective on things. What causes some people to see them and others not?

As for "where they go," I suppose it has to do with what they are (or might be). There has been for some time a lot of conjecture about them being a kind of residual electromagnetic field or wave structure. Don't ask me how such a thing would hold itself together. From what we currently understand, EM fields just don't hang together unless there's a core of some kind, a magnet or a coil. If there is some other kind of field -- a kind of "point of view" field, maybe -- that interacts with EM fields and could hold them together, well, we don't know about it.

Some ghosts supposedly have enough structure to them to either have or mimic a consciousness or personality. Others are more like mechanical echoes, or reflections/ripples.

Anyway, since these things apparently represent some kind of EM field wave structure, I would assume that when the go away, they just sort of dissipate. They fade out like any kind of wave does, and eventually go back into the general noise level. If there's another type of coherent field, perhaps they just stop interacting with our space and move back into whatever space that field originates.

Or they go to Heaven and play the harp with Jesus.

I've been actively ghost hunting ever since my Fiancee committed suicide a couple of years ago. He promised he would always be with me, and would find a way to contact me.
I also had experienced an NDE experience some months previously to that, and I was damn positive there was an afterlife.
However...
I have seen things, yes. But, have not experienced anything definitive that makes me believe convincingly there is an actual afterlife.
If anything, I am left feeling like there is an energy imprint from the past or something that is left.
I do, unfortunately, believe the experiences I have had can be explained by science.
I have not had any proof that there is any heaven or a hell.
I have become more a believer on the science of things, which does not please me, but it is what it is.
Where do ghosts go? Well, it depends how you define a ghost.
Is there more?
I damn well hope so.
I for one, will continue to look for it with skepticism.and hope.
But I do love hearing other peoples stories and experiences.
Something is going on for sure. But what?

Sorry to hear about your fiancee. I have seen, experienced things that I don't think science can answer. I ask my spirit guides to reveal themselves, and I asked to see my father, he passed away years ago. My daughter would see him in our house with us. Weird, I know, but I thought I could communicate with him in my dreams. One day I seen him in my kitchen, it scared the hell out of me. Thats something I need to work on more, but it makes me feel comfortable that there is something after this life.

That is another discussion that could go on forever, there are so many possibilities, like being a medium, or the "veil" between the worlds weakening, maybe because its a particularly strong entity or the person is at the a little sensitive (for other varied reasons), and many others, that's why these things are interesting, there are so many possibilities

When my grandmother died I was in the room with her, my mum and her two sisters.

She was the second person I had actually seen die and for me it was a sureal experience because I really felt the departure of her spirit, that is she had left the room and the body in front of me was no longer my grandmother.

The weird part was the docter and nurses came into the room and performed their official duties. They then left her lying in state for a long time, it was either one hour or two hours.

I asked my mum why are they just leaving her there? Shouldn't they take her body out of the room? Mum said it was common practice at this hospitl to leave the bodies lying in state for a while after they had died to allow time for the spirit to move on. While I thought this was weird at the time as an adult who has seen people pass on I think it's comforting to know.

It was said earlier but I think ghosts are those who were not able to accept the moment of their death, either to acknowledge it or perhaps are unaware they have passed on.
