Women turn on 'traitor' Oprah Winfrey for backing Barack Obama

www.timesonline.co.uk

AMERICA’S favourite television presenter is paying a painful price for her intervention in the US presidential campaign last month. Oprah Winfrey has been dubbed a “traitor” by some of her female fans for supporting Barack Obama instead of Hillary Clinton.
Winfrey’s website, Oprah.com, has been flooded with a barrage of abuse since the queen of daytime chat shows joined Obama on a tour of Iowa, New Hampshire and South Carolina in mid-December.

This is ridiculous! I do not like either candidate, but this election is being decided on sex and race issues.

It disgusts me.

Why can't people think outside the box at least once in their life?

This is the part that makes me really pissed off:

In the original post, a reader called austaz68 said she “cannot believe that women all over this country are not up in arms over Oprah’s backing of Obama. For the first time in history we actually have a shot at putting a woman in the White House and Oprah backs the black MAN. She’s choosing her race over her gender.”

This austaz character, definitely a Clinton plant, cannot believe Oprah is siding with a "MAN" instead of a WOMAN. Its sad that the issue of sex is even discussed here.

What does it matter if the candidate is male or female, black or white?

The candidate should be judged on their issues, what they say, and what they do. NOT what they look like, their physical appearance.

This is like a high school popularity contest.

"I'm prettier." "No I am."

Geez people, wake the # up.

This is politikal maneuvering at its finest.

Nice one Clinton, we're coming for you.

To the open-minded, this should be an eye-opener.

The message in this story is a truth that was forced down my throat 15 years ago.

To this day, people call me a liar, but stories like this corroborate my experience.

Those who are the most quick to scream bigot are the most bigoted.

Grady, you couldn't be more right, and you couldn't have said it better. If this doesn't expose that a large block of Hillary supporters base their support on gender, I don't know what would.

I'm waiting w/ bated breath for the race clash within the Dem party as Obama advances. I thought it might well up after NH, or after Hillary's 'spadework' gaffe. Give it time--don't underestimate the Clintons' penchant for dirty tricks. I hope Obama has some smart people on his team who are prepared to counter.
