Very few people remember past lives and if when we die we reincarnate and dont remember past experiences then isnt reincarnation pointless?

Not necessarily, some beliefs say that reincarnation is a journey to an ultimate place or state, and even though we as people, cannot remember our past lives, our "soul" keeps track of these and only when we have finally achieved "spiritual enlightenment" through our life experiences, can our soul be released from our carbon bodies into "our perfect place".

I'm not religious, but reincarnation as a system makes more sense to me than the traditional hell/heaven model.

More room for learning instead of being damned for all eternity in hellfire for a slip up

I don't think we would remember anything from our past lives, because our current conscious minds didn't experience it. I'm not sure how anything else works beyond that!

why do we consider animals less inteligent birds and monkeys create and use tools, shelter, meals and offspring the basics. While we abuse knoweldge (adam + eve knowledge tree) creates jealousy envy greed etc

I'm a little confused by your statement. But from what I get, is your saying "why is there things like greed, jealousy, envy?"
All these feelings and emotions we feel is all part of the learning experience. like when we are children, we know that touching a hot stove is bad, but we wont really know the consequences until we experienced it.
The mind and the soul are two totally different entity's all together. what our conscious mind remembers is different than what are soul remembers and has learned. Do you get what I'm saying?

IMO only humans have the intellect to grasp spirituality, but that doesn't mean animals don't "reincarnate". Our journey will include living as animals or plants or whatever. Every living thing on this earth has a soul, and experiences different thoughts and feelings.
I hope I'm understanding you right...

Ahh... the consequences of human intellect.
Our journey just becomes that more difficult.

I think reincarnation or "getting another chance" would be awesome if we could actually remember our errors from previous lives but this obviously isn't so. Some say the "soul remembers" in somewhat of a tallying or imprint system but what good does that do us now? What is the point? If I've had relationship problems in the past ten lives due to the same reason, then I wouldn't know to change my M.O. in the 11th life. Reincarnation sounds like a nightmare to me, to be honest. Who wants to keep coming back to this hell hole over and over again unless it is, like mentioned above, to get another chance and we can remember the previous one?

Or if it is a "tier system," like the better you do in this life, the better the next one will be and vice versa, then the lack of recollection still makes for huge problems. You could have done great and made it all the way up the tier and almost be done, but since you don't remember the lessons you've learned, you might have a "bad run" of lives and subsequently be reincarnated back down the chain. Then you get to start all over. Sounds like hell.

Or you could look at as God not wanting us to remember all the people we knew in our last life and get hung up on them well we're trying to live a new life.

Also if you killed people or went through some tramatic experiences like sexual, physical or emotional abuses could be big reasons why God won't let us remember.

IMO... it's necessarily about getting better, but just about experiencing all things to be experienced.

I regard Earth as a place were only hell could exsist and that we keep coming back until we are enlightened enough to move to the next dimension/plane etc.

I think of our exsistence as like going to school like an education. In our many different lives we pick up important points and experience we take into our next life each time getting closer and closer to our enlightment which enables to move higher.

We shouldnt be able to remember past lives. Imagine being able to remember wives, Husbands, Children, Mothers from past lives it would seriously screw up what you are trying to accomplish in this life. Also imagine remembering death itself that would not be a good memory at all.

Our exterior ie our physical selves are stupid shells believing every experience is new. Meanwhilse our soul is laughing thinking been here and done this many times. Our soul grasps a little from every life it experiences and uses that to further itself. Our physical conscious does not remember anything from a past life but i bet our souls are aware of every little detail from every life.

You cant go wrong if you learn as much as you can, Love and be kind to others and mother nature. Thats my theory

I think you make a very good point and, I know some here have put forth an explanation to that dilemma, of reincarnation being pointless, if we can't hold onto anything regarding prior lives.

I have read hundreds of the near death experience accounts and I see a similar thread running through those NDE's. They will leave their body, go through the motions of approaching the threshold of eternity and then will be sent back because they have not finished their course or completed their purpose in life. When they do return, they have no idea what that purpose was. They might have known what it was while experiencing the NDE but once back in their body, they haven't a clue. Like reincarnation, it lends the idea of people wandering around in the dark aimlessly without a clue regarding life.

You first claim it makes more sense to you (reincarnation) but you then state this:

So how does that make more sense to you? You have no idea how reincarnation works yet it makes more sense that the "traditional heaven/hell" model?

In order for reincarnation to work, and I'm speaking of the Eastern religion idea of reincarnation, then we should all have some memory of our past lives and where we screwed up so we can better ourselves and thus obtain "Nirvana" or "enlightenment". If the powers that govern reincarnation do not allow us to know where we need improvement then no one can make Nirvana for we would repeat endless cycles.

It would be like coming home everyday and spanking your child or pet and then not explaining or communicating to them as to the WHY!

Reincarnation fails on so many levels but the most critical is based on its first principles. What was the starting point of reincarnation and where did "karma" come from if it had no prior point of actuation until humans came into being? In other words, if there are no people then there would be no need for "karma" but when people came into being what "past lives" did they have in which karma would be attached to them? There had to be a starting point unless of course they claim it is "eternal" and if eternal then this means it has no end thus no need for karma or Nirvana.

Whichever the path the reincarnationist seeks to take their first principles will not allow their belief system to be valid.

Eastern takes on the topic vary from religion to religion. Reincarnation is denied in Buddhism - as a Buddhist probably believes in rebirth. However, from a Buddhist perspective, this doesn't necessarily mean you remember a past life, because in Buddhism there is no soul, i.e., there is nothing there to transfer a memory. If you would like more information I could surely go through it, although I think it would be more constructive to read about the beliefs, and possibly ask questions in concepts that are confusing.

Is it fake, or pointless? That's for you to decide...
