I used to be terrified of the thought of dying.

The idea of not existing anymore, not being aware as the rest of the world and universe ticks by, the people you leave behind send shudders up my spine. Our little brains (or maybe just mine) can't seem to get the grey matter round to the idea. So the idea of an afterlife is of obvious appeal to those who were. and maybe still are, afraid to die. Unfortunately it's pretty impossible to prove or disprove this sort of thing.

Just remember how old the universe is, according to some scientists maybe about 14 billion years or so at a rough guess.

The take this into consideration as well, You were dead for 14 billion years before being born.

Life is over in a flash, we better start enjoying ourselves!

Then it's back to the big black.

Void.

Actually, I'm not afraid of death at all, but its the process of dying...anything involving pain is a big no-no for me, not one of my pleasure in life...

Thats not to say I wasn't before, I thought about death when I was around eight years old...not in a suicidal fashion, it was more philosophical and spiritual, for a while was so terrified of the though (come on I was a kid), anyways long story short, I realize death is nothing to be afraid of at all...
