contrail of 8000mph aircraft, satellite pic

i just saw this pic on a show on history channel. claimed it was a pic from a weather satellite showing a contrail originating from nevada , heading east, going over russia and china. said it would be going 8000 mph. anyone heard this or know anything about it?

Without the picture, it is pretty hard to say...

Extremely unlikely.

Winds at the height that contrails exist at are very high but no where near that speed. I think a more accurate and believable speed would be in between 69mph (111kmh) and 250mph (440kmh), which are speeds at which the jetstream occurs (the jetstreams are upper level winds occuring at about 36,000ft above the earth, contrails form frequently in these environments). Is it possible you heard it wrong?

I remember seeing that documentary and searching google etc for this weather image and I never ever found it.

Would be interesting to see a hires copy of it, especially as he states the contrail originates from A51

Now Nick Cook makes a very valid point and I tend to believe him on this because it makes sense, the whole UFO thing is BS, a play simply put on to divert people's attentions from black projects and advanced technologies being developed.

However, I don't believe the supposed Aurora made that contrail, it is possible the contrail is simply a phenomena.

I think its fair to make a judgement call, using what we know of the worlds governments today, that they would quite happily prolong the UFO/Aliens myth so long as it meant they could do their work in relative peace.

Just a shame we'll have to wait 30 years to find out what is being concieved in a designers mind today.
