Girls, 8 and 10, stabbed, strangled; suspect says deaths a spell gone bad.

SIOUX CITY -- Two girls found dead in a smoke-filled house Sunday were the victims of a ritual slaying, police said Monday.

Their stepfather, Lawrence Douglas Harris Sr., 25, has been arrested and charged with two counts of first-degree murder in the deaths of Kendra Suing, 10, and Alysha Suing, 8.

I wonder what state of mind their father is in to think that a spell that might kill his two children could possibly produce. The risk could not have been worth the reward! I have heard of a few spells being cast for personal gain, but come on! Maybe others know more about this kind of thing.

Evidence of stabbing and strangulation before the fire was set.....

I wonder where it went wrong, after the strangulation, or before the stabbing.

I don't know anything about spells, but it was probably some BS that he learned from the movie 'The Craft' or 'Charmed'.

BAN WITCHCRAFT ON TV!!!

Yeah I was gonna say, what kind of spell stabs and strangles your daughters? Poor children, I hope they are in a better place then they were, I have a feeling that was probably not a good household to be living in. People of Sewer City are gonna string that fella up.

The stepfather is obviously looking to cop an insanity plea, obviously we dont know what made him do this but blaming a spell gone bad is absolute BS

All this will do is alienate people against witches and others following a pagan path, anyone with an ounce of common sence knows that what he did is nothing to do with a spiritual undertaking,

Casting spells is done for the benefit of all and never for gain unless you are a complete and utter idiot.

It has nothing to do with the craft or charmed although i have only ever watched a few episodes of charmed, what you see on tv is not reality, maybe in some demented minds but in the real world it is a long way from the true practice of witchcraft.

I see an insanity plea coming.

That rates up there with the guy who just recently killed his girlfriend and was caught in the act of eating her. In his hearing he said "God told him to do it." Used to, it was the devil that made people do crazy things, now God is getting the blame.

Neither of those have sacrificing your kids, for good or bad reasons. Fighting it, sure, but not for kicks.

Maybe Harry Potter was the ultimate influence? Religious lobbyists seem to think hes evil, even though he basically saved the world
