Hey SR, I guess it will start up more frequently here in the US the more these traditional thinking people move here for the American dream. I
witnessed some abuse years ago while I worked and lived in Egypt.
I was shopping at the oldest Bazaar called Khan El-Khalili in Old Cairo and as I was walking out of the place and towards the main road to catch a
Taxi, I witnessed a group of people screaming and shouting at a very young woman maybe late teens age. She was then thrown down on the street and by
her hair while she was on her back was dragged up the street and the people surrounding her were kicking her.
I wanted to intervene but a stranger (local egyptian) stopped me abruptly and said very quietly not to get involved because it was a family squabble
and the people that were dragging her were all family members.
He told me she was caught in the act of propositioning a tourist. He said to me if I would have jumped in then all he** would have broke out with me
as the tourist even if it wasnt me, wow!
This was the first time I ever witnessed this cruelty to another human being and I felt helpless to do anything about it, I was shocked into the
reality of this religion from this event.
