Well shortly after midnight on New Years a lot of people reported strange lights. The funny thing is most people were drinking and lots of fire works went off. It could be the perfect cover to test something out over San Nicholas Island. Just my two cents.

So what do you guys think? I saw the lights shortly after midnight and thought they were just flares...but ya never know.........

More than likely sky lanterns. Apparently a family in San Diego sent up several night lanterns that same evening/night. Not saying that it was definitely lanterns, but it's plausible.......
