the federal government funds the states with money for education. this was the whole point behind the no child left behind act. why are teachers so terrified of their students failing b.s. tests? because first, they can lose their job, and second, the lower the scores the less money the government is going to give to that state.

The money that schools get for the "No Child Left Behind Act" is only a very small portion of school funding. Schools districts don't always get this money... they only get it if they meet the requirements of the Federal Government under this act.

Federal funding for schools is less than 10% of a school district's income in most cases. The remaining 90% comes from state and local government sources, such as taxes and lottery.

I am guessing you don't own a home; if you did you would know that a portion of your real estate tax is "school tax", which you pay whether or not you have children in school.
