Doorway-like opening spotted on Mars

Very defined but it must be VERY big to show up on this image at all! How could this have formed naturally? It must be a shadow of some sort but it's hard to see anything jutting out that would cause a rectangular shadow. What does everyone else think?

I'm also curious... does anyone know why the ground around the "plateau" is blue???

Actually, the plateau itself seems kind of an anomaly. With it's straight sides and its giant height, judging from the picture. It looks a little more surreal to me, rather than real.

I think it's a false color image. Shading would be the same but colors are introduced for definition; makes subtle features easier to see. I've seen this used a lot in planetary images (esp. Jovian planets and Venus).

Strange it never came up when I searched. I only start topics after checking for other threads first. Since the story only just arrived on one of my other pages, I'm surprised that I never heard more about it over the past few weeks.

Ther is certain members here at ATS that would have you believe that is grass and bushes that make that green on mars.
