Are most Gays Democrats?

Dawnstar- I don't remember the OP stating, as you claim, that "most dems are gay"...I think it was that most gays are dem. There's a big difference in those two viewpoints. And I agree with him/her. It's true that most gays (around 80%) vote Democrat. That applies to those "out of the closet". Gays that keep it hidden, and aren't activists, might vote some other way.

And I don't recall the OP claiming most women are bisexual. What I got from that is those women who responded that they have an alternative lifestyle, would check the box for "bisexual", instead of "homosexual".

Another thing you mentioned in a previous post, that I definitely agree with, is about voting. I also vote for the "lesser of two evils"...which is why I always vote Republican. In my opinion, in every major election I can remember, that's exactly what it came down to. Not just for me, but for most of the voters out there.

Just to settle this point for the members of the thread, yes, the title was changed on 31-12-2007 by Dont Hate Rats. The original, controversial title was "Are most Democrats gay?"

I think that we can quickly prove this to be false by pointing out that homosexual individuals are only about 10% of the population, and that the percentage of people who say they are Democrats is much higher than 10% of the population. We can also point to groups like Log Cabin Republicans who ARE Republicans and are out as gay/bisexual/transgendered. They had a very visible presence at the past few national conventions:

I don't know how somones sexual orientation would dictate which state they would most want to live in. BUT this is discussion about OPENLY gay couples. Don't forget those MANY who haven't 'come out of the closet'. Sometimes those that have the loudest voices preaching against gays turn out to be gay themselves. If that's the case ... look to the most 'conservative' states to have the largest gay populations. And therefore the maps would probably be more balanced than they look.

My last college human sexuality course had the gay population to be more like 2%. But you are right... it's no where near the 40-50% of the population that claims to be democrat.

Yes I did change the title since it seemed to confuse some people as to the point I was tryting to make.

Statistics SUCK. Anyone with any intelligence knows this. This post, too sucks, anyone with any intelligence would also recognize that.

It's an observation, statistcs is also a passion for some people and so are patterns in human society. If lets say there were more Black people in those area's (this I do not know) is that because for example they feel more open and able to reach higher jobs. Maybe for example there are more gays in the Rebublican regions but are held back.

Just an example.

Well, it depends on which ma you're talking about on the red blue map my state is red...and on the green white map my state is kinda light green I would say. and lets just make it clear again that THE PART ABOUT ALL WOMEN BEING BI IS NOT PART OF MY ORIGINAL POST that was something Jedimiller threw out there.

I don't know what is sillier: that most women are either bi or have some genetic disposition to bisexual behavior, or that most gay people are members of the Democratic party.

Can either of these statements be backed up by anything even remotely resembling real science?

If I recall my HS Biology, it's the males that go through the embryonic changes. If that is so, then shouldn't it be the males that have the bisexual disposition?

I feel it was deliberate ( some sort of bait and switch?) and quite disingenuous of you to now 'pretend' otherwise. You had plenty of opportunities to say something when the mods began to respond, but you allowed the scolding of the others when you knew they were not guilty of mis-reading the original title.

Wow, sounds like you didnt even bother to READ the information of the maps you provided. Poor form DHR.

Let me fill you in on what you missed there mate.

The HIGHEST # of 'same sex couples' on the map you provided is 5.14% of any given states population. Seeing as how you are trying to relate SSC to Democrats in blue states, and saying (your own words here) "Do I think most democrats are gay? according to the maps, yes.", makes no sense. Lets say for the sake fairness 51% of blue state with the highest % of SSC is actually democratic, that means about 10% of the democrats are gay...according to your information. Seems like a far cry from "most dems" being gay.

My suggestion, think a bit before you speak.

Those statements seem to suggest that you might hold the belief that all women are against God. Is that true? Nothing in your posts indicated sarcasm to me. You seem to have held to two tenets throughout this thread: gay is evil and women are gay. But you haven't explicitly said "women are evil." I'm curious as to whether or not you actually hold that position. And if you do not, which of the two previously mentioned claims are you willing to waffle on in order to make that third statement false?

I can attest to this as well. I have been to both national and state level GOP conventions in my early years 1988-1992 and the Log cabin republicans were present and in force at almost every one of those events. They are not well know however outside of party circles.
